Jordan Seaton commits to LSU: Former Colorado OL joins Lane Kiffin’s SEC squad
LSU secured a huge win on the recruiting trail Friday when it landed a commitment from former Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, he announced on social media. Seaton, the No. 4 overall player and the top-ranked offensive tackle available in the 247Sports Transfer Portal Rankings, is the latest blue-chip recruit first-year coach Lane Kiffin was able to land in the portal.
The Tigers now have pledges from three of the top five players in the 247Sports transfer rankings: Seaton, former Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt (No. 1 overall) and Ole Miss edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen (No. 5). Umanmielen played last season for Kiffin at Ole Miss.
Seaton, a former five-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting cycle by 247Sports, committed to coach Deion Sanders out of high school. During his freshman campaign, Seaton started all 13 games and became the first offensive tackle to start in a season-opener at the school.
As a sophomore, Seaton appeared in nine games during the 2025 season but missed the final three due to injury. He earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors for his efforts.
LSU under Kiffin holds the No. 1 overall transfer class in the 247Sports rankings. Ironically, Ole Miss — Kiffin’s former employer — holds the second-ranked recruiting class heading into the final week of January.

Swiss court orders release on bail of bar owner in probe of fatal New Year’s fire
GENEVA — A court on Friday ordered the release on bail of one of the owners of the Swiss bar where a fire broke out during a New Year’s celebration, killing 40 people and injuring more than 100.
The court of compulsory measures in the southwestern Valais region on Jan. 12 ordered three months of pretrial detention for Jacques Moretti over the fire in the early hours of Jan. 1 at Le Constellation bar in the Alpine resort of Crans-Montana, but said it was inclined to lift the detention if suitable “security measures” were arranged.
On Friday, the court said it had lifted the detention order and instead imposed other measures to counter a “flight risk.” Those include obligations to stay in Switzerland, deposit his identity documents with prosecutors and report to police every day. The court set a bail of 200,000 francs ($252,000), which was paid.
Swiss prosecutors have opened a criminal investigation into the owners — Moretti and his wife, Jessica Moretti — who are suspected of negligent homicide, negligent bodily harm and causing a fire by negligence.
Lawyers for the couple said in a statement Friday that they will continue to respond to all requests from authorities and “their constant thoughts remain with the victims of this tragedy.”
Investigators believe that sparkling candles ignited the fire when they came too close to the ceiling, which was outfitted with soundproofing material. They are looking into whether the material conformed with regulations and whether the candles were permitted for use in the bar.
Local authorities have said that fire safety inspections of the bar hadn’t been carried out since 2019.

OT Jordan Seaton transferring to LSU, leaving Colorado, sources say

LSU received a commitment from Colorado transfer offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Friday.
Seaton, the top offensive tackle and No. 4 overall player in ESPN’s transfer rankings, picked LSU over Miami, Oregon and Mississippi State. He’ll have two more seasons of eligibility with the Tigers but is expected to be a first-round prospect for the 2027 NFL draft.
The 6-foot-5, 330-pound sophomore was one of the highest-rated signees in Colorado program history as a five-star recruit in the 2024 class. Seaton started 22 games at left tackle over his two seasons with the Buffaloes.
Seaton was the top uncommitted player still available in ESPN’s transfer rankings. He joins ESPN’s No. 1-ranked transfer portal class.
His decision means new coach Lane Kiffin and the Tigers have signed three of ESPN’s top six transfers, with Seaton joining quarterback Sam Leavitt (Arizona State) and pass rusher Princewill Umanmielen (Ole Miss) in Baton Rouge.
Kiffin and his staff have brought in 41 new players via the portal in January and have dramatically overhauled their offense, with three new incoming quarterbacks, four new running backs, nine wide receivers and eight offensive linemen.
Seaton, the No. 19 overall recruit in the 2024 ESPN 300 out of IMG Academy in Florida, started right away as a true freshman at Colorado. He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors from the league’s coaches in 2025 after surrendering zero sacks in pass protection over nine games, according to ESPN Research.

Simply seeing a jacket, shoes and keys by the door could prompt them to wander off, according to Daly.”Even if their plan was not to go for a walk or not to leave the house, they may see that jacket, they may see those shoes and say: ‘I guess I was over here to leave the house. Clint Black Did It His Way to Score His First Platinum Album
Very few artists experience success straight out of the gate, but Clint Black managed it with his debut album, Killin’ Time.
What Were the Hits From Clint Black’s Debut Album?
Released via RCA Records on May 2, 1989, Killin’ Time was chock-full of hit singles, beginning with its lead single, “A Better Man,” which hit No. 1 on June 10 of that year.

Black followed up that success with three more No. 1 hits from that career-launching album, including the title song, “Nobody’s Home” and “Walkin’ Away,” and he scored another Top 5 with “Nothing’s News.”
How Did Clint Black’s Killin’ Time Do Commercially?
Killin’ Time was certified Gold for sales of 500,000 units on Sept. 24, 1989, and went on to be certified Platinum for sales of a million units on Jan. 23, 1990, less than a year after it was released.
Killin’ Time also earned Album of the Year honors at the ACM Awards, while “A Better Man” won Single Record of the Year. The runaway success of the album earned Black a prime spot among what would come to be called country music’s Class of 1989, which also included Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and more.
Who Writes Clint Black’s Songs?
Even more unusual than the rapid success of Killin’ Time was the fact that Black wrote or co-wrote every song on the album.
He also used his band to track the recordings, instead of relying on Nashville session musicians.
Over the course of subsequent albums, he would stick to his guns in making his records his way, despite resistance from Nashville labels who tried to steer him toward a more traditional approach of recording songs the label felt would be hits with a slate of studio musicians.
“I told those guys then, ‘I wanna look around in 30 years and see the same faces.’ And that doesn’t always work out, but I did everything I could to keep doing what I was doing with the people I was doing it with,” Black told Taste of Country in 2016.
“Some of them didn’t last, and some of them did. But my attitude was, I want to be an artist. I don’t want to be a product.”
