Riley Green is opening up about the biggest struggle in his career right now — and honestly, it’s painfully relatable.
With a packed schedule that now includes touring, acting in CBS’ Yellowstone spinoff Marshals and joining The Voice as a coach, Green admitted there’s one thing he’s battling more than anything else these days.
And no, it’s not fame.
Riley Green’s Struggle Is Real
“The biggest battle I face in my career now is just that I’m sleepy all the time,” Green told Billboard in a new digital cover story.

“And it doesn’t do well during a country music show to be yawning on the stage,” he joked.
Between nonstop touring, television projects and preparing for The Voice Season 30, the 37-year-old country star’s schedule has become a lot more demanding in recent years.
Fame Comes With Some Awkward Moments
Green also opened up about how his growing popularity has changed day-to-day life — especially when he’s trying to spend time with family.
“When I’m out with my family and we’re at a restaurant, it’s an awkward feeling because I don’t want to take away from somebody else’s evening by causing some kind of ruckus,” he explained.
The singer added that attending other concerts has become tricky, too.
I can’t go to another show because I wouldn’t want to cause somebody to be paying attention to me when somebody’s on stage performing.
Still, Green joked he may eventually find a solution, adding, “And one day I’ll shave my mustache and go wherever I want.”
A Massive Year Ahead
Green’s fourth studio album, That’s Just Me, is set for release on Sept. 18, and he just dropped a new single, “Think as You Drunk.”
Meanwhile, The Voice Season 30 premieres this fall, marking Green’s first season as a coach.
“Obviously, my career in country music has grown quite a bit over the last few years,” he told Billboard. “But when you start talking about something like The Voice and being in front of an audience that probably hasn’t heard of me before — it’s exciting.”
