A woman who accidentally flushed an antique wedding band down a toilet on an NJ Transit train got it back nearly a month later.

WABC reports that Julie Angelicola bought the yellow gold ring, which was made in 1905, at an antique show and said the engraved initials matched nicknames she and her husband use for each other.

After the ring was reported missing, NJ Transit took the train out of service so crews could inspect the toilet system. Crews removed the tank, sent it to a treatment plant, opened the top, and found the ring sitting on top.

Angelicola said she could not believe the recovery and felt lucky that NJ Transit workers went above and beyond to look for it.

“I just could not believe it. I was so excited and felt really lucky that they cared to find it, and now even just meeting everyone saying, ‘Oh, we took the train out of service,’ I’m like, that’s pretty exceptional,” Angelicola said.

On Monday, Angelicola met with some of the workers involved in the recovery before being reunited with the ring.

NJ Transit recognized its workers on social media and posted pictures after they met with Angelicola.

“Thanks to the dedication of our NJ TRANSIT mechanical team, the ring was carefully retrieved, and today, she was happily reunited with it. We’re grateful to our crew for going above and beyond to help a customer in need. A small act of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s day!” the post read.
