Police arrested a man and charged him with breaking into Greg Biffle‘s house in the days following his death. Then, they admitted a previous theory was wrong.
- Police say Terrell Williams (age 44, of Stone Mountain, Ga.) will be charged with second-degree burglary, safe cracking, money laundering and more in a case involving late-NASCAR driver Greg Biffle.
- The burglary took place at Biffle’s home in January.
- Several firearms, sports memorabilia, gold and silver coins and $30,000 cash were stolen.
Several Georgia TV news stations report that Williams was being held on a separate burglary charge when investigators discovered a cache of items thought to have belonged to Biffle. He was arrested in Cobb County, Ga., on July 29.

Soon after, cops there contacted the Iredell County (N.C.) Sheriff, who joined the investigation. During last week’s press conference, the Sheriff said they could definitely place Williams at the house on Jan. 7, the day of the burglary.
How a Murder In Georgia Led To an Arrest for Greg Biffle’s Estate
A home break-in that followed a recent high profile murder in Smyrna, Ga., led to Williams’ arrest (per Fox 5 in Atlanta).
Describing the alleged criminal’s methods, Iredell Sheriff Darren Campbell said, “Basically he used headlines, social media posts, different things to find out when people were or were not at home. Which is the exact same thing that happened with this high-level homicide in Georgia.”
Campbell hinted at a string of crimes dating back years. Spending cash associated with the burglaries may have been his undoing. The day after the Biffle break-in, police say Williams bought a car.
Greg Biffle’s Friends and Family Cleared of Suspicion?
Police originally believed a woman was responsible for the burglaries, and they believed that woman was an associate of Biffle’s due to the way she walked around the home with familiarity. As it turns out, the burglar may have just used a radio-frequency detector to locate security cameras.
This theory made it easy to connect the home burglary to a fraud case that involved Biffle family bank accounts and an unknown amount of money.
However it now seems the alleged crimes are separate, with police saying they also have a person of interest in the fraud case. That person or persons may still turn out to be a Biffle friend or family member.
