First Navajo player fires up the Dallas Cowboys locker room in postgame speech

GLENDALE, Ariz. —

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Arizona Cardinals in a preseason matchup.

During the game, a player with New Mexico ties saw playing time on the field, bringing something that caught the attention of Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer.

Following the game, Schottenheimer pointed out that he had seen something unique, an entire section cheering for one player. That player was Shiyazh Pete, the first Navajo NFL football player and former New Mexico State Aggie.

Pete is currently the on the Dallas Cowboys roster as a third string guard.

Following the game, Coach Schottenheimer give Pete the privilege of speaking to the locker room.
