Date:

Maddox Batson is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to viral country music. The 16-year-old has millions of followers on social media.

I spoke to Batson on Taste of Country Nights where he revealed some great advice he recently got from Post Malone and Malone’s dad that changed everything for him.

Post Malone Gave 16-Year-Old Maddox Batson Career-Changing Advice

Batson said “Post Malone is really cool. I had a really good conversation with him. Him and his dad. It was right when I was getting into this kind of stuff so he talked to me what to look for and how to sniff out the bad people.”

At the age of 16, with the viral success that Batson has seen so far, there will surely be some people that try to make money off of his fame and maybe promise him things that they can never commit to, due to the fact that they think he is young and they can take advantage of him.

Batson says “He’s [Malone] been in it a long time, so he gave me some great advice for sure.”

Who Has Maddox Batson Opened For?

Even though Batson is only 16 years-old, he has already opened for Lainey Wilson, Tucker Wetmore and Gabby Barrett. But now he has jumped to a headliner on his own.

Batson’s I Need a Truck Tour in 2025 was his first headlining tour, including stops in Boston, Chicago, and Birmingham, Alabama.

The tour includes 22 U.S. dates and dozens of international shows.

One thing is for certain, if Batson continues on the trajectory that he is on, he will likely be giving other country artists advice sooner than later, as opposed to taking advice from his peers in country music.

This isn’t polite adulation. Below you’ll find honest responses from eight stars who’ve worked with him or watched as he broached the topic of a country album. They’re young and old, progressive and traditional. Unless noted, all quotes came from interviews with Taste of Country.
