Garth Brooks Admits He’s Never Seen These Two Popular 90s Sitcoms

Garth Brooks has spent decades as one of the biggest names in country music, but there are two hugely popular TV shows he somehow missed entirely.

While Brooks was a guest on Taste of Country Nights in 2024, I asked him a simple question: Did he ever watch ’90s sitcoms like “Friends” and “Seinfeld”?

Brooks’ answer was not what I expected at all.

“I’ve never seen a single episode of ‘Friends’ or ‘Seinfeld,’ because we were lucky enough to be gone all the time, man.”

It might sound almost impossible considering just how massive “Friends” and “Seinfeld” became, but Brooks had a pretty good reason for missing them — he was busy living life on the road, playing shows and building a career that would eventually make him a country music legend.

Rather than spending his nights watching sitcoms, he was traveling from city to city and spending his time in his own world.

The exchange is a pretty funny reminder of just how different life was for country stars at the peak of their careers in the ’90s with no DVR.

While millions of Americans were watching Ross, Rachel and the rest of the gang every week, and laughing along to “Seinfeld” episodes, Brooks was somewhere across America playing shows and doing what he did best.
