‘Enough is enough’: Patrick Clancy at center of ‘destructive defamation campaign,’ attorney says

Attorneys for Patrick Clancy, the former husband of Lindsay Clancy, released a new statement Tuesday, after a mistrial was declared in the murder of their three children.
“Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign,” said Howard Cooper, an attorney at Todd & Weld, which is representing Patrick Clancy. “This campaign of misinformation has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists who appear intent on boosting their own social media profiles and potential profit by publishing what they know to be outright falsehoods that Patrick was somehow involved in the death of his young children and other vile claims.”
Cooper said the misinformation is threatening Patrick Clancy’s “reputation, livelihood, and life.”

“Patrick has no choice but to address this situation – with the clear goal of stopping injurious behavior, creating accountability for lies that are self-serving to the perpetrators, and being able to return his attention to what matters: preserving the memory of Cora, Dawson and Callan Clancy and supporting other women facing perinatal mental health challenges.
“Enough is enough — this spread of blatant and baseless falsehoods must stop. Those responsible should understand that there will be consequences, and every appropriate measure will be pursued to hold them accountable, including legally. Law enforcement has been notified,” Cooper said.
Lindsay Clancy was charged with strangling their three children to death in the family’s Duxbury home in 2023. Patrick Clancy was the first witness to testify in her trial.
After the mistrial was declared last week, attorneys for Patrick Clancy said he was grateful to the Court and to the jurors for their hard work, their commitment, and their perseverance. The loss of Patrick’s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure. The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family, and for all us.”
Jurors in the case deliberated for seven days and were tasked with deciding if Clancy, 36, was criminally responsible for killing 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan. Choices on the verdict slip were first-degree murder, second-degree murder or manslaughter, not guilty and not guilty by lack of criminal responsibility.

The jury remained deadlocked for days, with courtroom discussion indicating that one holdout was preventing the panel from reaching a verdict.
A hearing on the next steps in the case is set for Sept. 29.
