Divorce documents obtained by Taste of Country show Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo took steps to avoid a contentious split and protect one another throughout the process.
They also reveal the couple’s separation date, the reason for their split and what Jelly hopes will happen during the divorce proceedings.
Filings submitted by Jelly on May 18 suggest a “Marital Dissolution Agreement that provides for an equitable division of the parties’ assets and apportions responsibility for payment of the parties’ debts.”
He reserved the right to amend his complaint and “allege additional grounds for divorce” in the event that they can’t see eye to eye, but it seems like Jelly is hoping the split will be a simple one.

Initial filings gave fans some idea of the timeline of their breakup, and answered some questions about the circumstances. Jelly filed on May 18 — just one day after the couple skipped the ACM Awards, and 10 days after Bunnie last posted him on her Instagram (a Mother’s Day post featuring video of herself, Jelly and daughter Bailee at Bailee’s prom.)
Now, newly-accessed documents have more information to share: Including the fact that Jelly and Bunnie started divorce proceedings a few days sooner than we thought.
When Did Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo Break Up?
Documents list Bunnie and Jelly’s separation date as May 9. That’s a little over a week before previously listed, but still a pretty quick path from breaking up to filing paperwork.

A Standard Domestic Scheduling Order — aka an official timeline for proceedings to transpire — was also filed on May 14, four days before the complaint is dated.
Why Did Jelly Roll + Bunnie Xo Break Up?
There’s no real drama to see here, at least not in the paperwork. Jelly’s filing cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, and seemingly aims to divide things up fairly without any further accusations or allegations.
The filings did include a Statutory Restraining Order, which is pretty standard in divorce filings. That document is intended to prevent either party from concealing finances or evidence related to the divorce, and from taking any children out of state without permission, while proceedings are ongoing.
