Barcelona vs. Copenhagen live stream: Where to watch Champions League online

With the final day of the Champions League league phase upon us, Barcelona are hosting Copenhagen in what could be the highest scoring match of the entire day of soccer. As things stand, Barcelona are on the outside looking in at a top eight place in the table. That’s an important goal since it grants an automatic place in the round of 16. For any team, not only does it remove room for error when Barcelona could be stuck with a team like Napoli in the play in phase, but it also provides a chance for much needed rest.

Coming into this match, Pedri, Gavi, and Frenkie De Jong are all set to miss out, which accounts for the entire Barcelona starting central midfield. It leaves manager Hansi Flick with quite a few things to think about, but Barcelona will need to score as many goals as they can in this match to ensure that as much is left in their hands as possible.

How to watch Barcelona vs. Copenhagen, odds

  • Date: Wednesday, Jan. 28 | Time: 3 p.m. ET
  • Location: Camp Nou — Barcelona, Spain
  • Live stream: Paramount+
  • Odds: Barcelona -900; Draw +850; Copenhagen +1800

The league phase table is a logjam with a whopping eight teams all on 13 points entering the final day of play. If teams are level on points, the tiebreakers are as follows:

  1. Overall goal difference
  2. Goals scored in all league matches
  3. Away goals scored in all league matches
  4. Total wins
  5. Away wins
  6. Strength of schedule, includes points, goal difference, and goals scored of all opponents faced in the league phase
  7. Fewer disciplinary points, one point for a yellow card, three points for a red card, and three points for two yellow cards
  8. Higher overall ranking in the UEFA Club Coefficient

Because of this, while Barcelona’s goal difference of plus five may be competitive, with the teams ahead of them on plus six and plus 10, they need to score as many goals as possible to move up the table.

Copenhagen may not be eliminated from making the knockout stage themselves, but to score away to Barcelona, they’ll need to leave themselves vulnerable in defense. It’s a tough balance that the final day of action brings, but it’s one that each manager has to come into the day prepared for. At this stage of the season, everyone is dealing with injuries, which is why even with Flick being without his first choice midfield and potentially Ferran Torres, his attacking trio will be counted on to make things happen.

In Champions League play, Copenhagen have conceded four goals twice, and that’s the number that Barcelona will need to aim to beat. Teams around them could drop points, but getting to a goal difference of plus 11 will give them the best chance possible to finish in the top eight. To do that, they’ll have to find the back of the net quickly and continue to keep pressure on while also ensuring that they keep a clean sheet.

Lawyer apologizes for fake quotes, fabricated judgments generated by AI in murder case

0

A senior lawyer in Australia has apologized to a judge for filing submissions in a murder case that included fake quotes and nonexistent case judgments generated by artificial intelligence.

The blunder in the Supreme Court of Victoria state is another in a litany of mishaps AI has caused in justice systems around the world.

Defense lawyer Rishi Nathwani, who holds the prestigious legal title of King’s Counsel, took “full responsibility” for filing incorrect information in submissions in the case of a teenager charged with murder, according to court documents seen by The Associated Press on Friday.

“We are deeply sorry and embarrassed for what occurred,” Nathwani told Justice James Elliott on Wednesday, on behalf of the defense team.

The errors caused a 24-hour delay in resolving a case that Elliott had hoped to conclude on Wednesday. Elliott ruled on Thursday that Nathwani’s client, who cannot be identified because he is a minor, was not guilty of murder because of mental impairment.

“At the risk of understatement, the manner in which these events have unfolded is unsatisfactory,” Elliott told lawyers on Thursday.

“The ability of the court to rely upon the accuracy of submissions made by counsel is fundamental to the due administration of justice,” Elliott added.

The fake submissions included fabricated quotes from a speech to the state legislature and nonexistent case citations purportedly from the Supreme Court.

The AI-generated errors were discovered by the Elliot’s associates, who couldn’t find the cases cited and requested that defense lawyers provide copies, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation previously reported.

The lawyers admitted the citations “do not exist” and that the submission contained “fictitious quotes,” court documents say.

The lawyers explained they checked that the initial citations were accurate and wrongly assumed the others would also be correct.

The submissions were also sent to prosecutor Daniel Porceddu, who didn’t check their accuracy.

The judge noted that the Supreme Court released guidelines last year for how lawyers use AI.

“It is not acceptable for artificial intelligence to be used unless the product of that use is independently and thoroughly verified,” Elliott said.

The court documents do not identify the generative artificial intelligence system used by the lawyers.

In a comparable case in the United States in 2023, a federal judge imposed $5,000 fines on two lawyers and a law firm after ChatGPT was blamed for their submission of fictitious legal research in an aviation injury claim.

Judge P. Kevin Castel said they acted in bad faith. But he credited their apologies and remedial steps taken in explaining why harsher sanctions were not necessary to ensure they or others won’t again let artificial intelligence tools prompt them to produce fake legal history in their arguments.

Later that year, more fictitious court rulings invented by AI were cited in legal papers filed by lawyers for Michael Cohen, a former personal lawyer for U.S. President Donald Trump. Cohen took the blame, saying he didn’t realize that the Google tool he was using for legal research was also capable of so-called AI hallucinations.

British High Court Justice Victoria Sharp warned in June that providing false material as if it were genuine could be considered contempt of court or, in the “most egregious cases,” perverting the course of justice, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The use of artificial intelligence has made its way into U.S. courtrooms in other ways. In April 2025, a man named Jerome Dewald appeared before a New York court and submitted a video that featured an AI-generated avatar to deliver an argument on his behalf.

A month after that, a man who was killed in a road rage incident in Arizona “spoke” during his killer’s sentencing hearing after his family used artificial intelligence to create a video of him reading a victim impact statement.

0

Is The Kelly Clarkson Show really ending after this season? Let’s take a look at everything we know so far about the situation.

There have been several reports as of late that Kelly Clarkson is done with her talk show and does not want to proceed with a Season 8. There are also rumors swirling that she wants to continue but NBC doesn’t want to renew her deal.

When Does Kelly Clarkson’s NBC Contract End?

Clarkson’s contract with NBC ends in 2026, and as far back as spring 2025, rumors were swirling that she was planning to bring her talk show to an end at that time.

A recent report from Page Six cites multiple sources claiming that Clarkson’s show is unlikely to return for another season, with varying degrees of certainty. One source called the exit “definite,” while another said that the future of The Kelly Clarkson Show is still undecided and could go either way.

Then there’s the source who told Entertainment Tonight that “Kelly is done. The series will end after this season.”

But now, Just Jared is reporting that a rep from the show told Entertainment Weekly that there is absolutely no truth to any of that, saying there are no current plans for the series to end, putting all rumors to bed with one word, “Rumor!”

The rep for the show also added that the program’s producer and distributor, NBC, “will advise directly if there is a show update.”

TRENDING RUMORS

Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé is on the radar of the Saudi Pro League. Sky Sports reports that league officials are “laying the groundwork” for a move to sign the 28-year-old in the summer, having already made an enquiry for him. Dembele, who holds both the men’s Ballon d’Or and FIFA the Best awards, has 2½ years left on his contract at the Parc des Princes, but talks over an extension have stalled as club president Nasser Al Khelaifi made clear that he would not break PSG’s wage structure. As you would expect, Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly prepared to offer significant salary amid hopes of tempting him away from the Parc des Princes. It is said that Dembele’s representatives have indicated that he is focusing on this season, but there could be a possibility of a transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Manchester City are set to block any potential exit for striker Omar Marmoush this month, according to Football Insider. Tottenham and Aston Villa are reportedly interested in the 26-year-old, but City are keen to keep hold of him to ensure there is strong cover for key starter Erling Haaland. Marmoush scored in the 2-0 Premier League win over Wolves on Saturday, in what was his third league start for Pep Guardiola’s side this season.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are interested in Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The two European giants are among several teams keen on the 20-year-old, who remains contracted with Juve until the summer of 2029. The Serie A club hopeful of extending his deal by “one or two” more years following an impressive run of form that has seen him register 16 goal contributions in 29 matches this season.

– A move for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is being lined up by Atletico Madrid, BILD journalist Christian Falk reports. The LaLiga club have reportedly held talks with the 30-year-old’s representatives after identifying as a potential replacement for Conor Gallagher, who joined Tottenham this month. Atleti are also keen on strengthening their attack, according to Marca, who report they are looking at Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman and Nottingham Forest striker Igor Jesus.

– Scouts from Manchester United are keeping close tabs on the situation of Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye, according to TEAMtalk. The 25-year-old is reported to have “several” admirers within the Old Trafford hierarchy amid plans to continue signing players with Premier League experience, but any move could hinge on who they appoint as their first-team manager. The report adds that multiple clubs are tracking Ndiaye following his impressive performances at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

EXPERT TAKE

ESPN pundit and columnist Nedum Onuoha writes what it is like as a player to move clubs in January:

The final days of a transfer window are no fun for a professional footballer. When you know that you might be changing clubs, those days and hours are full of uncertainty, confusion, selfishness and, in some cases, betrayal. Your whole world can be turned upside down on the whim of a manager or director, but that’s the harsh reality of the business of football.

In 2012, my wife and I were based in Manchester, and I had heard there was interest from Everton, but I was told that my club, Man City, had agreed a deal with QPR and that was it — nothing more to be said. So now I had to travel down to London for a medical. I picked up my washbag, left the training ground and had to get a train 200 miles south.

Did I have a choice? Not really. Transfers are all about who has the leverage, and I had very little. I wasn’t playing, but I felt a move was a necessity for me and if Everton wasn’t going to be an option that worked for City, I would have to go to QPR.

So I had my medical, signed a contract, trained on the Thursday and was in the squad for the Saturday in an FA Cup tie against Chelsea, QPR’s biggest rivals, despite still not knowing the names of some of my teammates.

I’d gone from the life I knew to a completely new one in the space of 2-3 days.

HPV vaccine is almost a certain cervical cancer prevention

When girls — yes, and boys — are ages 9-12, they are not likely to worry, or think at all, about cervical cancer. It’s up to doctors to speak with their parents or guardians and have them make sure their children get the HPV vaccine before they start having sex.The good news, KOAT health expert Dr. Barry Ramo says, is that the vaccine is so effective that it has the potential to eliminate the disease altogether.”Virtually all cervical cancers are caused by the HPV virus,” Ramo said. “That virus can lie in the cervix for many decades. ASEAN’s top diplomats under pressure to end Myanmar war and finalize South China Sea pact

0

CEBU, Philippines — Southeast Asia’s top diplomats met Wednesday under growing pressure to push a peace plan that has so far failed to end Myanmar’s civil war, and to beat a deadline to conclude talks on a nonaggression pact with China this year.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a diverse 11-national bloc, has struggled to project unity and relevance for years. But it faced its latest setback last year when deadly fighting erupted between two members, Thailand and Cambodia, over a longtime border conflict.

Fighting ended with a ceasefire that was brokered by Malaysia and pushed through by pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump, who threatened to withhold trade privileges unless they agreed. Helping sustain that fragile ceasefire is high on the agenda of the ASEAN’s foreign ministers’ annual meeting in the central Philippine city of Cebu.

The Philippines holds ASEAN’s rotating chair this year, taking what would have been Myanmar’s turn after the country was suspended from chairing the meeting after its army forcibly ousted Aung San Suu Kyi’s democratically elected government in 2021.

ASEAN does not recognize the country’s military government, and its leaders are barred from attending the regional bloc’s meetings, although lower-level career diplomats have been allowed to participate.

The resulting war has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced millions in a crisis that has emerged as one of ASEAN’ biggest challenges and source of embarrassment as Western governments demanded the bloc to do more.

Last week, Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan said that ASEAN leaders decided in their annual summit in October not to send observers to Myanmar’s recent elections because conditions for credible polls were not met, though some member countries, like Cambodia and Vietnam, chose to do so individually.

ASEAN leaders proposed a five-point peace plan in 2021, which demanded, among others, an immediate end to fighting and hostilities, but it has failed to end the violence or foster dialogue among contending parties.

Discussion on the peace plan was a top priority in the ministerial meetings in Cebu, according to the agenda, which was seen by The Associated Press.

Philippine Foreign Secretary Theresa Lazaro, who has been designated as the ASEAN’s special envoy to Myanmar, would report to her counterparts in Cebu the result of her recent visit to Myanmar, where she met the ruling generals among other officials. She would also discuss the result of a conference of various political and ethnic groups opposed to Myanmar’s military government that she recently organized in the Philippines in a bid to reach out to all contending sides.

Participants in the Philippine conference discussed enforcement of the peace plan, “including how to advance de-escalation, facilitate humanitarian assistance, effectively address transnational crime and foster political dialogue among relevant stakeholders,” the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila said.

ASEAN foreign ministers were also under pressure to conclude negotiations with China ahead of a self-imposed deadline this year on a so-called “code of conduct” to manage disputes over long-unresolved territorial rifts in the South China Sea, where China makes expansive claims that overlap with those of four ASEAN members.

They hope to prevent the disputes, long regarded as a potential flashpoint, from degenerating into a major conflict that could drag in U.S. forces.

Washington has no claims in the disputed waters but has warned China that it’s obligated to defend the Philippines, a longtime treaty ally, if Filipino forces come under an armed attack in the offshore region.

Negotiations on the proposed code of conduct have dragged on for more than two decades without any major breakthrough in the most contentious issues, including whether such an accord should be made legally binding. But the bloc resolved to conclude the negotiations by the end of 2026 at a meeting in

Analysts say concluding the talks will be an uphill climb.

“Even with a strong political will, concluding it will remain challenging,” said Australia-based analyst Lupita Wijaya, who has done extensive research on the South China Sea.

“The central roadblock is not the pace of negotiations, but more on fundamental differences between ASEAN claimant states and China over interpretations of international law or whether the COC should be legally binding,” she said.
