Super Bowl Sunday baby on the way for Seahawks, Patriots couple
VIDEO: Seahawks and Patriots loyalties collide as couple expects Super Bowl baby
A couple in the state of Washington is expecting a daughter on Super Bowl Sunday while their home is split between Seahawks and Patriots loyalties. The couple, who are from Des Moines, Washington, spoke to KING about their baby on the way. “It means family. Really, football means family for us,” Isabella Crane, the mom-to-be, said.Being die-hard football fans makes it a perfect coincidence that their baby is due on the same day as the big game — and that their favorite teams are playing. Isabella is a Seahawks fan while her husband, Brady Crane, reps the Pats. They love football so much that the couple even used Seahawks and Patriots onesies to reveal the gender of the little one.Over the summer, while working at Central Washington University, the couple and one of their friends took to the school football field’s 50-yard line to have the gender reveal. If they pulled a Patriots jersey out of a box, it meant the baby was expected to be a boy. They ended up pulling a Seahawks jersey out, meaning a baby girl was on the way. While he’s a New England fan, Brady wasn’t upset to see the Seahawks onesie during the big reveal. “To be honest, I thought that I was going to be like, aw, man it’s Seahawks. But I remember looking at it, it’s like, oh my gosh, the first thing you thought about was picturing your baby girl wearing that and just how cute it was gonna be,” he said. And while the couple don’t agree on who will win the Super Bowl this year, they agree that their baby being born on the day of the big game would be a championship moment they’ll treasure for a lifetime. “A healthy baby girl is all we can ask for, and that is the biggest win of all,” Isabella said.See more in the player above.

BRUCE DICKINSON Is Recording His Next Solo Album DAVE GROHL’s Studio 606 With Members Of SEPULTURA
Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson is deep into the making of his next solo album — and he’s doing it in suitably heavyweight surroundings. The metal icon is currently putting the finishing touches on vocals at Dave Grohl‘s Studio 606 in Northridge, CA, with early reports suggesting the record could be one of the strongest outings of his career outside the Maiden camp.
The as-yet-untitled album will serve as the follow-up to 2024’s The Mandrake Project, released via BMG, and isn’t expected to arrive before 2027. While fans will need patience, the names involved — and the reactions from those who’ve heard the material — are already fuelling serious hype.
News of the sessions first surfaced thanks to Jeff Scott Soto (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Yngwie Malmsteen, Talisman), who shared a photo from Studio 606 showing himself alongside Dickinson. In a characteristically enthusiastic post, Soto revealed he’d arrived just as Bruce was wrapping up final vocal takes.
“How lucky am I?” Soto wrote. “I went to say hello to my dear friend Mistheria who I worked with on his Vivaldi Metal Project and of course is part of Bruce Dickinson‘s solo endeavors these days. Arrived at Dave Grohl‘s studio right as Bruce was doing some final vocals to his new album.”
Soto added that after Dickinson finished singing, the Iron Maiden frontman invited him to listen to some of the new tracks — an offer that clearly left an impression.
“He finished and came out to chat/hang a little but then asked if I wanted to hear a few of the songs… umm, YEA!!” Soto continued. “I must say besides the fact that he is still singing at the top of his game, the songs, performances, and the overall vibe I got from all was beyond impressive.”
Perhaps most tellingly, Soto suggested the album could rank among Dickinson‘s finest work outside Iron Maiden. “I think this outing will be one of his strongest ever outside of the Maiden camp,” he wrote.
As if that weren’t enough, the visit also included a bonus perk: a sneak preview of a new Trooper beer variant. “To add frosting on the cake, I got to try a prototype for a new Trooper beer, this one is a nice IPA which I’m normally not a fan of, but this was really good,” Soto joked. “It’s not out yet so I feel pretty lucky to have tried it before the rest of the world haha.”
Dickinson‘s creative circle for the new record builds on the lineup behind The Mandrake Project, which was largely recorded at Los Angeles’ Doom Room with longtime collaborator Roy “Z” Ramirez acting as co-writer, producer, guitarist and bassist. That album also featured keyboardist Mistheria and drummer Dave Moreno, both veterans of Dickinson‘s 2005 solo release Tyranny Of Souls.
This time around, however, the cast is expanding — and taking a heavier turn. Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser recently let slip his involvement via Instagram, sharing photos from Studio 606 showing him playing percussion alongside Dickinson. He also posted an image of Grohl with mixing and mastering engineer Brendan Duffey, hinting at their roles in the project.
“What a privilege! Truly an honor to participate on the new album of the great master of metal [Bruce Dickinson] — a gentleman and a fucking legend!” Kisser wrote. “Thank you for letting me play some percussion on the album!”
Switching briefly into Portuguese to thank Duffey for the invitation, Kisser returned to English to praise the studio itself. “And [Dave Grohl], what a studio you created, simply magical. Hope you like the distortion from the new pedal [by Fuel Music Audio],” he added. “Heavy Metal rules!”
Sepultura vocalist Derrick Green also appears to be part of the sessions, sharing a selfie with Dickinson on social media captioned simply: “With the legend himself!”
Dickinson, who has fronted Iron Maiden since 1981, previously spoke about his plans for the album during an appearance on Chris Jericho‘s Talk Is Jericho podcast. Last year, he revealed hopes to begin recording in January 2026 — and emphasized a deliberately old-school approach.
“We’re doing it, everybody on the floor, with the intention of keeping it all,” Dickinson said. “Not with, ‘Oh, we’re gonna do it, everybody on the floor, and then we’re gonna keep the drums and re-record everything.’ No! The idea is, we’re gonna keep it all. Only if it really stinks will we redo it.”

Seahawks-Patriots marks latest Super Bowl rematch
Super Bowl LX pits two teams plenty familiar with each other on the biggest stage.
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks faced off in Super Bowl XLIX in 2015, a memorable matchup the Patriots won 28-24. With a second-and-goal at New England’s 1-yard-line late in the fourth quarter, Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson was intercepted by Malcolm Butler in one of the more shocking Super Bowl moments.
The Seahawks did not reach the Super Bowl since that matchup until this season. The Patriots won again in 2016 and 2018. Seattle has won each of the three regular-season meetings with New England since Super Bowl XLIX.
This year marks the 10th repeat Super Bowl matchup and the fourth the Patriots have been a part of. It’s also the first time that three straight Super Bowls will be rematches.
Here’s a look at every Super Bowl rematch in NFL history.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Super Bowls: LVII and LIX
Kansas City and Philadelphia had a memorable Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona, in 2023 as the Chiefs won their first of back-to-back titles. With 5:12 left in regulation and the score tied, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the team down the field to set up a 27-yard winning field goal by Harrison Butker.
The Eagles would get their revenge two years later in New Orleans, dominating for a 40-22 victory and ending the Chiefs’ bid for a three-peat. Philadelphia jumped to a 34-0 lead on its way to its second Super Bowl win in franchise history.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers
Super Bowls: LIV and LVIII
The first Super Bowl win of Mahomes’ career in 2020 came against the 49ers when the Chiefs stormed back with 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Remarkably, Kansas City began the final period with an interception, but its defense forced two straight punts while the offense then answered with touchdowns to regain control.
Four years later in Las Vegas, overtime was needed to crown a champion. Mahomes again delivered in the clutch, leading Kansas City down the field to set up a tying field goal with three seconds left. After San Francisco kicked a field goal in overtime, Mahomes threw a touchdown pass to win it all for Kansas City.

New England Patriots vs. New York Giants
Super Bowls: XLII and XLVI
Two of arguably the most improbable Super Bowl outcomes came from the same teams.
The first in 2008 ended New England’s bid to become the first team to finish a season undefeated since the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Giants quarterback Eli Manning connected with wide receiver David Tyree for 32 yards on the famous “helmet catch” late in the fourth quarter. Four plays later, Manning threw a touchdown pass to put New York ahead, capping off an all-time upset.
In 2012, the 9-7 Giants pulled it off again to defeat the Patriots. Down 17-15 and regaining possession with 3:46 remaining in the fourth, Manning led New York down the field on a drive that ended with a six-yard rushing score by Ahmad Bradshaw. The Giants would then stop the Patriots for another remarkable Super Bowl victory.

New England Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Super Bowls: XXXIX and LII
Each time the Patriots faced the Eagles in the championship, New England was coming off a Super Bowl victory, but the outcomes of these matchups differed.
New England defeated Philadelphia in February 2005 after forcing four turnovers, three of which were interceptions by Donovan McNabb. After breaking his leg just seven weeks earlier, Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens stepped up to catch nine passes for 122 yards. Tom Brady threw for 236 yards and two scores for his third Super Bowl in four years.
Similar to the Chiefs rematch, the Eagles emphatically bounced back in the second matchup with the Patriots. Backup quarterback Nick Foles threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns while catching a score in a memorable trick play. Brady had 505 passing yards and three scores, but was stripped late in the fourth to set up the Eagles’ winning drive.

New England Patriots vs. Los Angeles Rams
Super Bowls: XXXVI and LIII
The Patriots’ first and, at least for now, most recent Super Bowl victories both came against the Rams, 17 years apart.
“The Greatest Show on Turf” lived up to its nickname with 427 total yards but had three turnovers and only 17 points against New England. Rams quarterback Kurt Warner threw a 26-yard touchdown pass with 1:26 left to tie the score. But the Patriots won the game after a 48-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri.
Though the 2002 Super Bowl win marked the beginning of a dynasty, it could be argued that Super Bowl LIII in 2019 was the cherry on top. New England stifled Los Angeles for a 13-3 win and its NFL record-tying sixth championship.

Buffalo Bills vs. Dallas Cowboys
Super Bowls: XXVII and XXVIII
Buffalo and Dallas met in consecutive Super Bowls, the only time in league history the same matchup occurred two years in a row in 1993 and 1994. But the result remained the same — Cowboys victories.
It was a dominant 52-17 win for Dallas in the first meeting before Buffalo initially made it a tighter contest the following year. The Bills held a 13-6 halftime lead, but the Cowboys put together 24 unanswered points for another championship.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. San Francisco 49ers
Super Bowls: XVI and XXIII
Joe Montana’s first and third Super Bowls of his legendary career were against the same opponent, the Cincinnati Bengals.
He won the Super Bowl MVP in the first meeting in 1982 after throwing for 157 yards and one touchdown, rushing for another on the ground. Montana topped himself six years later with 357 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Dallas Cowboys
Super Bowls: X, XIII, XXX
The Steelers dominant run in the 1970s included two Super Bowl victories over the Cowboys.
Pittsburgh defeated Dallas 21-17 in 1976 for its second consecutive championship after Terry Bradshaw threw for 209 yards and two scores. His counterpart, Roger Staubach, struggled with three interceptions despite 204 passing yards and two touchdowns.
The sequel in 1979 proved to be much of the same, but in emphatic fashion as the Steelers won 35-31. They led 35-17 in the fourth quarter before the Cowboys put together two touchdown drives. While Super Bowl X marked the second of back-to-back titles, Super Bowl XIII was the first of consecutive victories for Pittsburgh. These two teams would later face off in 1996 in Super Bowl XXX, which Dallas won.

Washington Commanders vs. Miami Dolphins
Super Bowls: VII and XVII
With a bid to go 17-0 on the line, the Dolphins took care of business against Washington at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with a 14-7 victory in 1973. Larry Csonka had 112 yards on the ground for Miami, while Jim Click had the lone rushing touchdown.
Washington would avenge its defeat when the teams met in 1983. This time, Washington emerged victorious 27-17 for its first Super Bowl win. It faced a 17-10 deficit at halftime, but then scored 17 unanswered points in the second half to secure the first of three Super Bowls wins over the next nine years.
US announces $6M in aid for Cuba as island’s leader accuses it of imposing an ‘energy blockade’
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The U.S. government on Thursday announced an additional $6 million in aid for Cuba as the island’s crisis deepens and tensions escalate between the two countries, with Cuba’s president accusing the U.S. of an “energy blockade.”
The aid is largely meant for those living in Cuba’s eastern region, which Hurricane Melissa slammed into late last year. The supplies include rice, beans, pasta, cans of tuna and solar lamps that will be delivered by the Catholic Church and Caritas, said U.S. Department of State Senior Official Jeremy Lewin.
He warned that officials with the U.S. embassy in Cuba will be out in the field “making sure that the regime does not take the assistance, divert it, try to politicize it.”
The U.S. previously sent $3 million in disaster relief to Cuban people affected by Melissa.
Lewin rejected that a halt in oil shipments from Venezuela — after the U.S. attacked the South American country and arrested its then leader — is responsible for the humanitarian situation in Cuba.
He said that for years, the island has “hoarded all of the resources for the few senile old men that run the country, for their henchmen, for the security apparatus” as he accused Cuba of “meddling abroad,” including “colonizing Venezuela.”
“So that’s what they’re spending their time and attention on,” said Lewin, who noted that his mother was born in Havana.
“Why can’t they get food? It’s not because we’re not letting illicit Venezuelan oil continue to make Raúl Castro rich,” he added, referring to the former Cuban president. “It’s because the government can’t put food on the shelves. They have billions of dollars, but they don’t use it to buy food for ordinary Cubans.”
Lewin spoke hours after Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held a rare, invite-only press conference in which he fielded questions from a select group of reporters. The Associated Press was not invited.
Díaz-Canel said that there was a “psychological war” against Cuba as he described a recent threat by U.S. President Donald Trump to impose tariffs on any country that sells or provides oil to Cuba as “an energy blockade.”
He said such actions affect transportation, hospitals, schools, tourism and the production of food. In addition to severe blackouts, Cuban officials note that U.S. sanctions, which increased under Trump’s second term, cost the country more than $7.5 billion between March 2024 and February 2025.
“I know we are going to live through difficult times. But we will overcome them together, with creative resilience,” Díaz-Canel said in a two-hour speech in which he answered questions from a handful of reporters.
He noted that Cuba has not received oil shipments since the U.S. began its “naval blockade” on Venezuela in December.
“Therefore, we have problems with fuel availability to guarantee not only electric generation, but also basic activities,” he said.
Díaz-Canel promised that in a week, he would share details regarding the island’s current situation and how the government will confront it.
“There’s a lot of fear,” he said. “I know people say, ‘Sacrifice, again?’ Well, if we don’t sacrifice, and if we don’t resist, what are we going to do? Are we going to give up?”
Lewin said that if the Cuban government comes to its senses and is willing to allow the U.S. to provide more support, that there might be more announcements.
“They should be focused on providing for their people, not making these blustery statements,” Lewin said. “He can talk a big game, but again, any government, its first responsibility is always to provide for its people.”
In his speech, Díaz-Canel said his government is open to dialogue with the United States under certain conditions, including respect for Cuba’s sovereignty and “without addressing sensitive issues that could be perceived as interference in our internal affairs.”
“Cubans do not hate the American people,” Díaz-Canel said. “We are not a threat to the United States.”

How penis hyaluronic acid injections became latest Winter Olympics’ cheating concern

Ahead of this week’s Opening Ceremony at the Winter Olympics in Milan, the World Anti-Doping Agency has addressed claims originating from a German tabloid that male skiers could be injecting themselves with hyaluronic acid in private areas to gain an athletic advantage in competition.
Crotch size manipulation is apparently something utilized as a benefit in the aerodynamics scope so that 3D scanned measurements used to assess athletes’ suit sizes would be larger than normal, according to German newspaper Bild. The newspaper claimed athletes were putting the acid into their penises for enhancement.
In ski jumping events, suit size — in this case, larger — is considered advantageous.
“I am not aware of the details of ski jumping, and how that could improve performance,” WADA director general Olivier Niggli said at a press conference this week. “If anything was to come to the surface, we would look at it and see if it is doping related. We don’t address other [non-doping] means of enhancing performance.”
Suits must conform to an athlete’s body and are fitted before the start of every jumping season.
“Every extra centimeter on a suit counts,” Sandro Pertile, race director for the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), said in 2024. “If your suit has a 5% bigger surface area, you fly further.”
Last August, two Olympic gold medalist ski jumpers and three staffers on the Norway men’s team were charged with ethics violations after “equipment manipulation” following an investigation stemming from a March incident. The Norway team were reportedly caught on video adding stitching into the crotch area of their suits to make them bigger and thus, more aerodynamic during competition.
Per the BBC, Norway coach Magnus Brevik and equipment manager Adrian Livelten admitted the suits were altered prior to the team’s participation in the large hill event.
“We regret it like dogs, and I’m terribly sorry that this happened,” Brevik said.
