The night before he won his very first Grammy award, Shaboozey pulled Bunnie Xo aside for a moment of, as she describes it, “manifesting.”
During that conversation he also mentioned that he’d written an acceptance speech, and said why it meant so much to him to be Grammy-recognized specifically for a Jelly Roll duet.
Jelly and Shaboozey’s “Amen” won Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the awards show last Sunday (Feb. 1), marking the first Grammy trophy for either of them (Jelly would go on to win two more that same night.)
But his conversation with Bunnie happened the night before, while both of them were attending the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala on Saturday (Jan. 31.)
What Did Shaboozey Tell Bunnie Xo Before the Grammys?
Bunnie recounted the moment in a new episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast saying that Shaboozey — or Shaboozle, as she calls him — is “the cutest thing.”
Essentially, he wanted to check and see if Jelly had a speech prepared in case they won.
“He was like, ‘Does Jelly have a Grammys speech already written?’ I was like, ‘No. You know my husband is Freestyle Roll. He doesn’t write anything,'” Bunnie remembers. “He was like, ‘Well, I have. I wrote a Grammys speech.'”
“And I was like, ‘Boozle, you are manifesting,'” she continues with a laugh.
Shaboozey said during his time onstage that he doesn’t usually pre-write acceptance speeches at awards shows, but for this one he made an exception.
What Else Did Shaboozey Tell Bunnie Xo About His Grammys Acceptance Speech?
That speech turned out to be a big moment for Shaboozey for a lot of reasons — not just because it was first time accepting a Grammy.

In it, he shared support for immigrants and spoke about his mother, a Nigerian immigrant who worked multiple jobs in order to provide for him and his siblings when he was growing up.
Many winners or attendees at the 2026 Grammys spoke out against the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during their time onstage or wore “ICE Out” pins on their outfits. Shaboozey didn’t mention ICE, but he did support immigrants in his speech, saying “Immigrants built this country.”
If he mentioned to Bunnie beforehand that he planned to include that subject matter in his speech, she didn’t say so on her podcast.
But she did say that he spoke about how powerful it was for two artists of different races to be nominated together in the Best Country Duo/Group category.
“He goes, ‘I feel like the world needs us, you know, Black, white.’ I was like, ‘Ebony, ivory.’ He’s like, ‘Yes,'” Bunnie recounted.
Why Didn’t Jelly Roll Give an Acceptance Speech For His Best Country Duo/Group Grammy Win?
Jelly attended the Grammy Awards, where he gave a faith-filled acceptance speech after winning Best Contemporary Country Album.
But most of the country-specific awards, including the Best Country Duo/Group Performance award, was given out during a pre-show Premiere Ceremony. This event was streamed live, but not broadcast on television. Jelly wasn’t there for that event; he and Bunnie were still getting ready for the show.
Bunnie shared video of Jelly learning that he won Best Country Duo/Group offstage.
Shortly after Jelly and Shaboozey won their Grammy together, Jelly won another in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song category, for his Brandon Lake duet “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”
What Did Jelly Roll Say When a Reporter Asked Him to Comment on ICE/Immigration at the 2026 Grammy Awards?
Jelly did not mention politics onstage, and when a backstage reporter asked him to comment on what’s going on in the country right now, he declined. He said he wasn’t informed enough to do so.
The singer reminded fans that he went without a smartphone for 18 months, and that he grew up in poverty in a household touched by addiction, where world politics wasn’t a common topic.
But he acknowledged that fans want to hear his opinion, and promised to learn more and share his opinion soon.
19 Country Stars Who’ve Never Won a Grammy, Ranked
These 19 country singers have never won a Grammy Award, but it’s worse than that. Collectively, they’re 0-118!
This list includes two Country Music Hall of Famers and five more destined to get invited one day. Commercial success doesn’t equal Grammy success. Remember that. This list was updated after the 2026 Grammy Awards.
The halftime show has been headlined by some of the biggest artists of all time and has delivered wild, iconic moments throughout the 60-year history of the Super Bowl.
This year, Bad Bunny will headline, taking the stage at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. He has yet to announce any special guests, though the performances often feature them. Some have speculated that rapper Cardi B — with whom he has the hit song “I Like It” — could join him. She is also dating Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, but Bad Bunny has not given anything away.

Last year, Kendrick Lamar took the stage during the big game in New Orleans. In 2024, Usher headlined in Las Vegas. In 2023, Rihanna performed at State Farm Stadium during Super Bowl LVII. Before that, five performers took the stage for Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles: Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige performed during the Rams‘ win over the Bengals.
For artists who play the Super Bowl halftime show, the audience is exponentially bigger than any they have ever encountered. It was not always like that, however.
So what were the shows like before they became must-see television? Do you remember that killer halftime show featuring the Rockettes, Chubby Checker and 88 grand pianos in 1988? Do you remember the captivating “Be Bop Bamboozled” at the Orange Bowl in 1989? No — no you do not. Ditto Carol Channing (twice) or any of those four contrived Up With People performances in the late ’70s and early ’80s.
Before Michael Jackson, the Super Bowl halftime show was an endless wasteland of college marching bands and flag-spinning tributes — from salutes to Hollywood (twice), to Motown, to the Big Band Era, to the Caribbean, to Duke Ellington. We also got New Kids on the Block (1991) not singing any of their biggest hits and Gloria Estefan (1992) providing the soundtrack for Olympic figure skaters Dorothy Hamill and Brian Boitano of “What would Brian Boitano do?” fame — because nothing says a Minnesota Super Bowl like the lead singer of the Miami Sound Machine.
Then the King of Pop arrived at the Rose Bowl in 1993 — and the Super Bowl halftime show was never the same again.
Here is the complete list of previous Super Bowl halftime performers and themes:

American skier Lindsey Vonn crashed seconds into her downhill Olympic race on Sunday after she decided to compete despite rupturing her left ACL in a prior crash during a World Cup event in the Swiss Alps a week ago.
The 41-year-old American, who came out of retirement to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics, earlier confirmed that she had fully ruptured her ACL, but said she felt confident she could still complete the race with the help of a knee brace.
Seconds into the race, Vonn lost control after she appeared to clip a flag marking the side of the course, flew sideways in the air and hit her head on the ground. She was responsive but did not get up. Medical personnel put her on a stretcher and airlifted her from the course.

Vonn’s “right ski pole snagged a gate, jerking her off balance and out of control,” Team USA said in a statement.
After the crash, Vonn could be heard screaming that she wasn’t able to remove her skis. She was taken to a clinic in Cortina, then transferred to a larger hospital in Treviso, a two-hour drive to the south, the Associated Press reported.
Vonn was being “treated by a multidisciplinary team” and “underwent an orthopedic operation to stabilize a fracture reported in her left leg,” the Ca’ Foncello hospital said in a statement.
The U.S. Ski Team said she had “sustained an injury” but was “in stable condition and in good hands with a team of American and Italian physicians.”
“She’ll be OK, but it’s going to be a bit of a process,” said Anouk Patty, chief of sport for U.S. Ski and Snowboard. “This sport’s brutal and people need to remember when they’re watching (that) these athletes are throwing themselves down a mountain and going really, really fast.”
Vonn had family in the stands, including her father, Alan Kildow, who stared down at the ground while his daughter was being treated. Others in the crowd, including Snoop Dogg, watched quietly as the star skier was finally taken off the course where she had so many fond memories.
Thomas Pronske from Austin, Texas, who was watching the event on the sidelines, told CBS News after the accident: “I hope she’s OK. It did not look good. We saw her take quite a bit of a tumble and I’m praying and wishing for the best for her … She was a very big reason why I was here. It’s just remarkable the comeback story of her overcoming adversity … I’ve torn my ACL myself, I know it’s a painful injury … and again I hope she’s ok.”

Maria Pronske, Thomas’ mother, who said she was so inspired by Vonn that she had come to see the event with an injured knee herself on her birthday, told CBS News that she “felt awful for her with her knee … Poor thing. I feel so sorry for her. I pray for her too.”
Crista Kosher, the cousin of Jacqueline Wiles, another Team USA skier who came in fourth in Sunday’s race, said it was “absolutely devastating to see her teammate be lifted off the hill.”
“Lindsay and Jacqueline have been racing together for years and years and years now, and they definitely have a mentor-mentee relationship, and seeing her friend go down is really challenging for everyone, but we wish the best for Lindsay and her recovery,” Kosher said.

Charles Christianson, a retired ex-ski racer from Park City, Utah, said the crash was “absolutely heartbreaking.”
“Everyone is here to cheer on the entire American team and especially celebrate Lindsay’s incredible career. This is absolutely heartbreaking, but true to form, Lindsay wouldn’t have it any other way,” Christianson said. “She knew the risks. Ski racers always accept it and you saw the determination when she went out of the gate. She was charging. There was never a doubt in her mind what she was going to do and it was gonna be podium or bust and it goes both ways. So again, the respect of the crowd and everyone here shows how important she’s been to the sport. We’re going to have to see what happens. We wish her the best. But just a gut punch.”

Ahead of Sunday’s race, one Team USA official had said that Vonn getting into a bad crash during the race was their biggest fear. Given all the attention on her and her inspiring story, the image of her being airlifted off the course during the race was their worst-case scenario.
Before her retirement in 2019, Vonn had competed with a torn lateral collateral ligament, three tibia fractures and a bone bruise, and still won a bronze medal. She now has one titanium knee, though that’s not the joint that’s currently injured.
“Just getting to these Olympics has been a journey, and one that some did not believe in from the start,” Vonn said in a social media post late Saturday. “I retired for 6 years, and because of a partial knee replacement, I had the chance to compete one more time. But why? Everyone seems to be asking me that question. But I think the answer is simple… I just love ski racing.
“I am not unsure about life outside of sport. I am not searching for meaning or for attention or money. I know exactly who I am and I know exactly what I am made of,” she said.
Vonn had clocked the third-fastest time in a training run on Saturday, ahead of the race — behind her teammate Breezy Johnson — though the run was called off due to bad weather before all the racers had participated.
“I think it’s a good run,” Vonn’s coach, Aksel Lund Svindal, said. “Tomorrow is the race and it’s the Olympics and the girls will push harder. So everyone will probably go faster, meaning Lindsey would also need to go faster. But it’s a solid run, but I think she has one more gear.”
On Sunday, Johnson won gold after taking the early lead, flying down the iconic Olympia delle Tofana course on a sunny day in Cortina in 1:36.10. Emma Aicher of Germany and Sofia Goggia of Italy rounded up the podium.
Progressive rock maestro Steven Wilson has unveiled Headphone Dust, a dedicated online platform offering high-resolution downloads, 5.1 surround mixes, and Dolby Atmos/spatial audio of his solo work. The service provides a permanent home for Wilson‘s releases, overcoming limitations of Blu-ray discs and physical media, which often go out of print.
“To begin with, I’m concentrating on my solo catalogue, but in time I hope to also be able to include other work with my own bands, collaborations, and the many artists I’ve mixed for,” Wilson said in a recent announcement.
To celebrate the launch, an exclusive live album, Impossible Tightrope: Live in Madrid, is now available. The recording captures the final concert of the European leg of The Overview Tour, performed in front of an enthusiastic Madrid audience. Clocking in at over two hours, the show has been mixed in stereo, 5.1, and Dolby Atmos, and will remain digital-only with no plans for a physical release.
Wilson has also revisited two of his most acclaimed solo albums for immersive audio:
The Raven That Refused to Sing (2013) – now available in Dolby Atmos for the first time
Hand.Cannot.Erase (2015) – Atmos version coming soon
“While I love the Blu-ray format, not everyone has the capacity to play these discs,” Wilson explained. “Headphone Dust will make pristine, immersive audio more accessible, providing a permanent home for my work in high resolution.”
Fans can now explore Wilson‘s catalog in unprecedented clarity and spatial detail via Headphone Dust, with more albums and future collaborations expected to follow. Check it out here.

Sengun — who becomes Turkey’s first two-time All-Star, after also being picked last season — will take Gilgeous-Alexander’s place on the World team in the Feb. 15 event at the LA Clippers‘ home in Inglewood, California.
Gilgeous-Alexander had to withdraw from the game because of a strained abdominal muscle. Sengun is averaging 20.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists this season for the Rockets.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver chooses injury replacements. The first 10 All-Stars are selected in a system of weighted votes from fans, media and current NBA players, and the 14 players designated as reserves are chosen in balloting by the league’s head coaches.
Silver also added the Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard to the All-Star roster last week. Leonard was needed to bring the total number of U.S. All-Stars for the new U.S. vs. World format to the required 16 — ensuring that each team would have the required minimum of eight players.
There are two U.S. teams in the event, one World team. The teams will play a round-robin tournament, then the top two teams will meet again in the All-Star final. All four of those games will last 12 minutes, or one standard NBA quarter.
Sengun is one of only two All-Stars from Turkey. Mehmet Okur is the other, getting his lone All-Star selection in 2007.
LONDON — British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s chief of staff resigned Sunday over the furor surrounding the appointment of Peter Mandelson as the U.K. ambassador to the U.S. despite his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Morgan McSweeney said he took responsibility for advising Starmer to appoint Mandelson, 72, to Britain’s most important diplomatic post in 2024.
“The decision to appoint Peter Mandelson was wrong. He has damaged our party, our country and trust in politics itself,” McSweeney said in a statement. “When asked, I advised the Prime Minister to make that appointment and I take full responsibility for that advice.”
Starmer is facing a political storm and questions about his judgement after newly published documents, part of a huge trove of Epstein files made public in the United States, suggested that Mandelson sent market-sensitive information to the convicted sex offender when he was the U.K. government’s business secretary during the 2008 financial crisis.
Starmer’s government has promised to release its own emails and other documentation related to Mandelson’s appointment, which it says will show that Mandelson misled officials.
The prime minister apologized this week for “having believed Mandelson’s lies.” He said “none of us knew the depth of the darkness” of the relationship between Mandelson and Epstein when the former was vetted for the diplomat job.
But a number of lawmakers have called for Starmer to resign.
“Keir Starmer has to take responsibility for his own terrible decisions,” said Kemi Badenoch, leader of the opposition Conservative Party.
Mandelson, a former Cabinet minister, ambassador and elder statesman of the governing Labour Party, has not been arrested or charged.
Metropolitan Police officers searched Mandelson’s London home and another property linked to him on Friday. Police said the investigation is complex and will require “a significant amount of further evidence gathering and analysis.”
The U.K. police investigation centers on potential misconduct in public office, and Mandelson is not accused of any sexual offenses.
Starmer had fired Mandelson in September from his ambassadorial job over earlier revelations about his Epstein ties. But critics say the emails recently published by the U.S. Justice Department have brought serious concerns about Starmer’s judgment to the fore. They argue that he should have known better than to appoint Mandelson in the first place.
The new revelations include documents suggesting Mandelson shared sensitive government information with Epstein after the 2008 global financial crisis. They also include records of payments totaling $75,000 in 2003 and 2004 from Epstein to accounts linked to Mandelson or his husband Reinaldo Avila da Silva.
Aside from his association with Epstein, Mandelson previously had to resign twice from senior government posts because of scandals over money or ethics.
