Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show makes waves on social media

0

Bad Bunny put on a memorable performance during the Apple Music halftime show at Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

The Latin trap artist gave fans nearly 13 minutes of energetic entertainment, which included hits from his latest album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.”

Bad Bunny opened the performance with “Tití Me Preguntó” before transitioning to “Yo Perreo Sola.”

In the performance, Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Martinez Ocasio, brought out Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin as special guest performers.

The sports world was well represented in the show. Boxers Emiliano Vargas and Xander Zayas made cameos, along with Atlanta Braves right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr.

Pedro Pascal, Cardi B and Jessica Alba were some other celebrities to make appearances.

Bad Bunny concluded the iconic halftime performance with “DTMF.”

Ahead of his performance, Bad Bunny told fans they didn’t need to learn Spanish to enjoy the show.

“People only have to worry about dance,” he said. “… They don’t even have to learn Spanish. It’s better if they learn to dance. There’s no better dance than the one that can come from the heart … that’s the only thing they need to worry about, to have fun and enjoy, and of course, choose your team at the game.”

Here’s how social media reacted to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show.

JOSH TRAVIS Apparently Announced He Is No Longer With EMMURE In The Middle Of His Twitch Stream

0

In early December of 2025, Metal Injection reported that Josh Travis wasn’t entirely sure of his role in The Tony Tapdance Extravaganza, and according to a Reddit user watching Travis‘ livestream on this past Friday night (6th February), Travis came out of left field, saying he was no longer working with Emmure.

Video for confirmation is currently unavailable due to Travis not recording or clipping his streamsm with neither Emmure nor Travis commenting more publicly about the split, but when asked by Metal Injection about what was said, the Reddit user (u/dreamlongdead) explained that “it was a really low key part. Someone was talking about meeting up with him at an Emmure show, and he just said something to the effect of “I’m no longer with Emmure. I haven’t been for a while, there was just never an official announcement because those are always weird to me. So and so leaves whatever band – like, just keep it moving.”” So, that does lead to the question as to whether or not the band or Travis will confirm it at all.

Josh Travis explained back in December that he would be a part of The Tony Tapdance Extravaganza but due to his role with Emmure and work with A Day To Remember, it would be far lesser in scale, saying that between trying to balance Emmure and A Day To Remember, “it’s hard enough as it is. So then when Danza‘s stuff started coming into it, it was kind of like, ‘I’m probably gonna go jump into a river or a lake or something‘, and then, you know, like, we’ll just see what happens from there.”

So, maybe his role with The Tony Tapdance Extravaganza may not be so limited after all? Time will tell.

Where to watch Super Bowl 2026 today: Seahawks vs. Patriots time, TV, live stream, halftime show

0

Super Bowl Sunday has arrived, and if this year’s showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots is even half as thrilling as the last time these franchises met on this stage, fans are in for a wild ride. Eleven years after their Super Bowl XLIX classic, the teams meet again tonight with the Lombardi Trophy on the line.

The Seahawks, much like their previous Super Bowl runs, have been powered by one of the NFL’s best defenses. Seattle allowed the fewest points in the league this season and finished first in both yards per pass attempt allowed and yards per rush attempt allowed. The unit flexed its muscle in a 41-6 divisional-round win over the San Francisco 49ers, surrendering just 3.9 yards per play — San Francisco’s worst mark all season.

Seattle’s offense delivered its biggest statement in the NFC Championship Game. Sam Darnold threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-27 win over the Los Angeles Rams, with 153 yards and a score going to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Kenneth Walker III added 111 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown, while Cooper Kupp and Jake Bobo also reached the end zone.

Though the unit was inconsistent late in the regular season, it has found its rhythm in the playoffs — and, crucially, has not committed a turnover. Seattle enters tonight’s game with a plus-four turnover differential this postseason.

Turnovers have also defined New England’s playoff run — but on the other side of the ball. No defense has forced more this postseason than the Patriots, who have wreaked havoc against the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and Denver Broncos. New England is allowing just 8.7 points per game in the playoffs, the fewest by any team through three games since the 2000 Baltimore Ravens‘ historic defense.

The Patriots’ offense, which powered much of the regular-season success, has been quieter in January. New England’s 18.0 points per game this postseason is the fewest entering a Super Bowl appearance since the 1979 Rams. Still, Drake Maye has delivered timely plays with both his arm and legs, and the Patriots’ firepower presents a major test for Seattle’s defense.

Here’s how to watch tonight’s game, followed by keys to the matchup and a prediction.

Super Bowl LX: Where to watch Patriots vs. Seahawks

Patriots-Seahaws Super Bowl big questions

Can the Patriots force Sam Darnold into mistakes?

For as good as Darnold has been this season — and especially this postseason — he does have a penchant for turnovers. In fact, his 20 turnovers this season were most in the NFL, and his 14 interceptions were third-most. Eight of those 14 turnovers happened when he was pressured, tied with Geno Smith for most in the NFL.

Now (mostly) healthy, the Patriots’ pass rush has been dominant this postseason with an NFL-best 52% pressure rate. For comparison’s sake, the highest pressure rate during the regular season was 45% (by the Minnesota Vikings).

The Seahawks have done a good job keeping Darnold clean for the most part, and play-caller Klint Kubiak does a good job of getting him out of the pocket via play-action and giving him easy answers.

But Milton Williams, who had a big impact in last year’s Super Bowl for the Philadelphia EaglesK’Lavon Chaisson and other members of the New England front seven will hope to make an impact so talented cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis have a chance to make Darnold pay for a poor decision.

Can the Patriots’ offensive line hold up?

The path for the underdogs to come out on top starts with getting to Darnold. The next step is protecting their own quarterback. Maye has taken five sacks in all three of his playoff games so far, and while that’s come against three of the NFL’s best defenses, it’s not as if the Seahawks’ unit is any easier.

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald dials up a variety of different schemes and pressure looks, and he has both a disruptive duo inside (Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II) and a plethora of edge rushers to generate pressure.

When the Seahawks do get pressure, Maye has to be careful with the ball: He has six fumbles (three lost) this postseason, both most of any player.

Can Maye hit the deep ball?

The Seahawks’ excellent cornerbacks play very aggressively, and it almost always works. The results speak for themselves.

But if the offensive line holds up, Maye might have the opportunity for a deep ball or two, and he’s been as good as anyone in those scenarios: His 35 completions at least 20 yards downfield this regular season were second-most in the NFL behind Matthew Stafford.

Super Bowl LX pick, prediction

Expect some nerves early, especially from the quarterbacks, but as both settle in, this should be a great, close battle between an ascending star and an unlikely one.

Maye is looking to become the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl, and Darnold is looking to become the first quarterback to win a Super Bowl after playing for at least five different teams.

Ultimately, the Seahawks’ defense gets a few timely stops, and Seattle leaves with its second championship.

Pick: Seahawks 24, Patriots 20

Super Bowl 2026: Patriots-Seahawks live updates, highlights and analysis

0

SAN FRANCISCO — No, you’re not in the Upside Down, but you might be experiencing a little bit of déjà vu.

Eleven years after facing off in Super Bowl XLIX, the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots are meeting again with the Lombardi Trophy on the line in Super Bowl LX.

Led by MVP runner-up Drake Maye and AP Coach of the Year Mike Vrabel, the Patriots no longer have the notoriety of an empire spearheaded by Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Instead, they’re a young, spunky team that got here after a three-win season a year ago. In Seattle, the defense has continued to pave the way, led by second-year head coach Mike Macdonald, who could become the first Super Bowl-winning head coach to also call defensive plays in NFL history. On offense, the Seahawks are led by quarterback Sam Darnold, who took a circuitous route to the Super Bowl.

Different paths, familiar destination as both journeys have led to Levi’s Stadium, where the Seahawks and Patriots will meet once again with everything on the line.

Stay tuned here for live updates, highlights and all the action from Super Bowl LX as it unfolds.

Hong Kong media mogul Jimmy Lai faces sentencing in landmark national security case

0

HONG KONG — HONG KONG (AP) — Jimmy Lai, the former Hong Kong media tycoon and fierce critic of Beijing, is set to be sentenced Monday in one of the most prominent cases brought under a China-imposed national security law that has virtually silenced the city’s dissent.

Three government-vetted judges in December convicted Lai, 78, of conspiring with others to collude with foreign forces to endanger national security and conspiracy to publish seditious articles. Lai, who pleaded not guilty to all charges, faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment under Hong Kong’s security law that Beijing deemed necessary for the stability of the Chinese special administrative region.

The democracy advocate’s arrest and trial have raised concerns about the decline of press freedom in what was once an Asian bastion of media independence. The government insists the case has nothing to do with a free press, saying the defendants used news reporting as a pretext for years to commit acts that harmed China and Hong Kong.

Lai’s sentencing could heighten Beijing’s diplomatic tensions with foreign governments. His conviction has drawn criticism from the U.S. and the U.K.

U.S. President Donald Trump said he felt “so badly” after the verdict and noted he spoke to Chinese leader Xi Jinping about Lai and “asked to consider his release.” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government also has called for the release of Lai, who is a British citizen.

Lai’s daughter, Claire, told The Associated Press that she hopes the regime sees the wisdom in releasing her father, a Roman Catholic. She said their faith rests in God. “We will never stop fighting until he is free,” she said.

Lai founded Apple Daily, a now-defunct newspaper known for its critical reports against the governments in Hong Kong and Beijing. He was arrested in August 2020 under the security law that was used in a yearslong crackdown on many of Hong Kong’s leading activists.

During his 156-day trial, prosecutors accused him of conspiring with six former Apple Daily staffers, two activists and others to request foreign forces to impose sanctions or blockades or engage in other hostile activities against Hong Kong or China. Lai testified for 52 days in his own defense, arguing he had not called for foreign sanctions after the law’s introduction.

In December, the judges ruled Lai was the mastermind of the conspiracies and never wavered in his intention to destabilize the ruling Chinese Communist Party. They took issue with what they called his “constant invitation” to the United States to bring down the Chinese government with the excuse of helping Hong Kongers.

Urania Chiu, lecturer in law at Oxford Brookes University, said the case is significant for its broad construction of seditious intent and application of the term “collusion with foreign forces” to certain activities by the media. The implication is particularly alarming for journalists and those working in academia, she said.

“Offering and publishing legitimate critiques of the state, which often involves engagement with international platforms and audiences, may now easily be construed as ‘collusion,’” Chiu said.

Lai is serving a nearly six-year jail term over fraud allegations in a separate case and has been in custody for more than five years. In January, lawyer Robert Pang said Lai suffered health issues including heart palpitations, high blood pressure and diabetes. Although Lai’s condition was not life-threatening, Pang argued his client’s health, age and solitary confinement, which the prosecution said Lai requested, would make his sentence “more burdensome.”

The prosecution said a medical report noted Lai’s general health condition remained stable. Hong Kong’s government had said no abnormalities were found in a subsequent medical exam following his complaint of heart problems.

The former Apple Dailly staffers and activists involved in Lai’s case entered guilty pleas, which could help reduce their sentences to be handed down Monday. Under the security law, reporting on offenses committed by others may result in reduced penalties and some of the staff members served as prosecution witnesses.

The convicted journalists are publisher Cheung Kim-hung, associate publisher Chan Pui-man, editor-in-chief Ryan Law, executive editor-in-chief Lam Man-chung, executive editor-in-chief responsible for English news Fung Wai-kong and editorial writer Yeung Ching-kee.

The two activists convicted in the case, Andy Li and Chan Tsz-wah, also testified for the prosecution.

Before sunrise, dozens of people were in line outside the court building to secure a seat in the courtroom, with some arriving on Thursday.

Former Apple Daily employee Tammy Cheung said she could only support them spiritually by seeing them. Cheung hopes the defendants will be released from prison soon, saying it would be great if they could reunite with their families before the Lunar New Year next week.

“Whatever happens, it’s an end — at least we’ll know the outcome,” she said.

Lai founded Apple Daily in 1995, two years before Hong Kong returned to Chinese rule after 156 years as a British colony. The publication drew a strong following with reports that were occasionally sensational, investigative scoops and short, animated video reports. Articles supporting the city’s democracy movement, including anti-government protests that rocked the city in 2019, attracted many pro-democracy readers.

Lai was one of the first prominent figures to be arrested under the security law in 2020. Within a year, some of Apple Daily’s senior journalists also were arrested. Police raids, prosecutions and a freeze of its assets forced the newspaper’s closure in June 2021. The final edition sold a million copies.

In 2022, Hong Kong plunged 68 places to 148th out of 180 territories in the press-freedom index compiled by media freedom organization Reporters Without Borders. The city’s latest ranking was 140th, far from 18th place in 2002.
