Kid Rock Opens Up on Lip Syncing Claims at His Halftime Show
Kid Rock was a guest on Fox News with host Laura Ingraham last night (Feb. 9) to address the lip syncing allegations tied to his performance at the All-American Halftime Show.
The performance took place at the same time as Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show spectacle, but was twice the length of the official NFL-affiliated event.
Ingraham, who herself remarked she published a book titled Shut Up and Sing (which condemns liberal celebrities for using their platform to address politics), welcomed musician and outspoken political conservative Kid Rock, right after she said “this is one place I don’t need politics, I just love great music.”
What Kid Rock Said About Lip Syncing Claims
“So Bobby, there are a lot of questions about what happened during your first song onstage,” Ingraham says in the interviewing (seen further down the page), using a nickname while alluding to Kid Rock’s birth name of Robert Ritchie. “People were talking about it. It seemed to be a little bit out of whack. What was going on there?”
“It was out of sync,” Kid Rock admits before divulging a plan to prove that he can truly trade vocal parts with his DJ in real time without issue.

“And actually, just to have some fun with the haters — I can’t answer all the trolls, but it’s gonna be some fun,” he teased, continuing, “My DJ, who actually raps that song with me, he was not lit up. He’s coming to Nashville tonight — flying in — and we’re gonna do that live in my living room and I’m gonna post it tomorrow to show people exactly how this works.”

Presumably, by “lit up” Kid Rock means that the cameras were not focused on his DJ who was also contributing vocal parts. Thus, words not coming from Kid Rock’s mouth could be reasonably explained as a DJ’s voice off-camera.
However, one of the issues with the audio and video is that it showed Kid Rock singing the words we heard, just on a delay in certain parts. Other times, he pulls the microphone away from his mouth mid-word while that word is heard, in his voice, finished, which would imply a backing track.
What Kid Rock claims — that his DJ is contributing parts off camera — is also credibly seen in different parts of the abbreviated “Bawitdaba” performance.
Now, back to Kid Rock’s comments and the single-song living room recording plan.
The singer says it will alleviate him of the lip sync accusations “because No. 1: if it would have been a lip syncing like people are trying” and then detours for a chance to finger point, “You know, the left is trying to throw me under the bus again, the mainstream media and social media tries to amplify it.
Was the All-American Halftime Show Live or Pre-Recorded?
There is speculation that the All-American Halftime Show was pre-recorded and livestreamed on YouTube in addition to airing in multiple other places.
Promotional materials for the event never mentioned outright that this was a live concert performance taking place the day of the Super Bowl and during its Halftime Show. The exact location was not disclosed other than the fact that it took place somewhere in Atlanta, Georgia.
“It would have been super easy to sync it up if it was pre-recorded,” he says, later indicating he watched a “rough cut” of the All-American Halftime Show before the livestream and noted that there was a sync issue.
“It was very difficult for the Turning Point production crew — who by the way I can’t say enough good things about — but was very difficult for them,” Kid Rock says. “I’m jumping around the stage like a rabid monkey, rapping my song and I’m taking breaths and my DJ is filling in the other parts of it — I even told them when I saw the rough cut, I was like, ‘You guys got to work on that sync. It’s off.’”
“So it was just a syncing issue that they had and I know they tried to get it right. It was very difficult,” the singer confesses.
It’s important to note that Kid Rock did not attribute the syncing issue of audio and video to a technical glitch during the livestream, which is a common issue. Instead, the problem appears to lie with the event’s own production, by his own admission.
If the All-American Halftime Show was streamed 100 percent live, this suggests that rehearsal tests experienced the same exact problem that the team encountered when going fully live — and only for “Bawitdaba” and not any of the other song performances throughout the event.
“But I’ll answer all the haters tomorrow [with the living room livestream] and we’ll put ’em back in the shut up and go back to trying to report the fake news,” Kid Rock told the host on Fox News, the network that reached a $787M settlement with Dominion Voting Systems in 2023 to avoid a trial and lawsuit over lies they promoted regarding the 2020 presidential election.
“I loved how you were jumping around,” Ingraham replies. “I don’t know how you did it. I mean, you’re not 30 years old,” she adds, astonished that a man in his mid-50s has 90 seconds worth of that kind of energy.

McIlroy: Players Championship ‘amazing’ but 4 majors plenty

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Rory McIlroy, a two-time winner of the Players Championship, believes the PGA Tour’s flagship event is one of the best tournaments in the world — just not the fifth major.
While speaking to reporters Tuesday ahead of this week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, McIlroy was asked where the Players stacks up with the other majors (Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open and The Open) after he completed the career Grand Slam by capturing a green jacket at the Masters last season.
“Look, I’d love to have seven majors instead of five, that sounds great,” McIlroy said. “I think the Players is one of the best golf tournaments in the world. I don’t think anyone disputes that or argues that. I think from a player perspective, it’s amazing. I think from an on-site fan experience, it’s amazing. It’s an amazing golf course, location [and] venue.
“But I’m a traditionalist. I’m a historian of the game. We have four major championships. You know, if you want to see what five major championships look like, look at the women’s game. I don’t know how well that’s [gone] for them.”
The LPGA includes five majors on its schedule each season: Chevron Championship, U.S. Women’s Open, Women’s PGA Championship, Amundi Evian Championship and the Women’s Open.
McIlroy believes competing for the four traditional majors is enough for the men’s professional game.
“But it’s the Players — it doesn’t need to be anything else,” said McIlroy, who defeated J.J. Spaun in a three-hole aggregate playoff at last year’s Players. “Like I would say it’s got more of an identity than the PGA Championship does at the minute. So like from an identity standpoint, I think the Players has got it nailed. It is an amazing tournament in its own right, and I don’t think it being classified [as] a major or not a major makes it any more or any less.”
As for the PGA Championship, McIlroy believes the tournament needs to move back to August as the final major, when it was “glory’s last shot” each season. It’s currently played in May as the season’s second major.
The debate about whether the Players should be considered the fifth major heated up again in recent weeks after the PGA Tour launched a trailer ahead of next month’s event that included the motto “March is going to be major.”
LIV Golf League captain Phil Mickelson, the 2007 Players Championship winner, pushed back, writing on his X account: “I’ve won it. It’s not.”
The Players has long been considered one of the most difficult tournaments to win because of its deep field — world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the only back-to-back champion, in 2023 and 2024, in the 51-year history of the event.
Mickelson argued on X that since LIV Golf stars like Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm aren’t allowed to compete in the event, the PGA Tour can no longer make that argument.
“I’m still very proud to have won that tournament twice, as I’m sure all the other champions are,” McIlroy said. “It stands on its own without the label, I guess.”
U.S. figure skater Maxim Naumov makes Olympic debut 1 year after parents killed in midair D.C. collision
U.S. figure skater Maxim Naumov carried the memory of his late parents with him to the Olympics on Tuesday night, delivering an emotional, heartfelt short program at the Milan Cortina Games that fulfilled a dream they had long shared together.
His parents, former pairs world champions Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, were among the 67 people killed — more than two dozen of them members of the figure skating community — when American Airlines Flight 5342 crashed into a military helicopter on approach to Ronald Reagan National Airport and fell into the icy Potomac River on Jan. 29, 2025.
One of the last conversations Naumov had with his parents was about what it would take to make the Olympics.
“I’ve been inspired by them since day 1, ever since we stepped on the ice together,” said Naumov, who brought an old photograph of that moment to the kiss-and-cry at the Milano Ice Skating Arena, the little tyke standing between his parents as he stepped foot on the ice for the first time, the three of them all smiling for the camera.

“It’s not necessarily thinking about them specifically,” Naumov said, “but their presence. Feeling their presence. With every glide and step that I made on the ice, I couldn’t help but feel their support, almost like a chess piece on a chess board.”
What made one of the feel-good stories of the Winter Games even more special was the performance.
While a long shot to make the top 10 at the Olympics, much less land on the podium, the 24-year-old Naumov nevertheless had one of the best short programs of his career. He opened with a quad salchow as his godmother, Gretta Bogdan, watched from the stands, and he followed up with a triple axel and a triple lutz-triple toe loop to finish out the program.
As the last notes of “Nocturne No. 20” by Frederic Chopin reverberated through the arena, and the crowd rose to its feet, Naumov slid to a stop on his knees and looked to the sky, telling his parents: “Look at what we’ve done.”
“I didn’t know if I was going to cry, smile or laugh,” he said afterward, “and all I could do was look up at them. And man, I still can’t believe what just happened. I think it’s going to take me a few hours or maybe a few weeks to know.”

His score of 85.65 was enough to make it through the short program, giving him another opportunity to perform when the men’s free skate takes place Friday night.
The plane carrying Naumov’s parents also had aboard 11 young skaters, two other coaches and several family members who had been attending a development camp in Wichita, Kansas, following the 2025 national championships.
Naumov’s parents were coaches at the Skating Club of Boston, which lost six members in the midair crash.
Naumov had flown out earlier, shortly after he had finished in fourth place for the third consecutive year.
“I can’t describe how difficult it was at the very beginning, and through month after month of really just trying my hardest to keep a positive mindset, and focus on day to day, thankfully, skating became a tool that actually helped me overcome that,” Naumov told CBS News Boston last month during his Olympic training at the Skating Club.
The idea of fulfilling the Olympic dream he harbored with his parents pushed him on. And when he finished third at the U.S. championships in January, his spot was all-but secured.
“To be honest,” Naumov said Tuesday night, “I wasn’t thinking about executing anything perfectly or anything like that. I wanted to go out there and just give my heart out. Leave everything out there. Have no regrets. And that’s exactly what I felt.”
“To deal with the tragedy that he’s dealt with, and like he said, get up and do the day. And that’s what he’s done. He’s done one day at a time,” Katharine Steeger, the skating club’s director of membership services, told CBS Boston. “To have Max start us off with such an amazing skate for him, it’s just, there’s really no words.”
This marks the first time since 2014 that the Skating Club of Boston has sent athletes to the Olympics. Along with Naumov, they also sent figure skating pair Emily Chan and Spencer Akira Howe.
In the crowd Tuesday, dozens of American flags waved when Naumov’s program came to a conclusion. At one end of the arena, a fan held up a big flag that read, “Tomorrow’s Champions,” and carried the logo of the Skating Club of Boston — “Tomorrow’s Champions” is the name of the skating school there that his parents founded and Naumov now oversees.
“From the time that my name was announced in the warm-up to right before the skate,” Naumov said, “I felt it — just the crowd, the energy, the roar. It’s like a buzz, you know? In your body. I couldn’t help but just embrace it. Embrace that love.”

JIMMY EAT WORLD Announce Massive Bleed American 25th Anniversary Tour
Jimmy Eat World are going big for the 25th anniversary of Bleed American. Today, the Arizona rock staples announced a massive tour celebrating the landmark 2001 album, launching June 9 in Denver, CO, with a career-defining show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and wrapping up in November at Vans Warped Tour in Orlando, FL.
The trek marks Jimmy Eat World‘s long-awaited return to the Vans Warped Tour stage — in all five cities — for the first time in 25 years.
