2026 NBA All-Star Game rosters: How teams are split for USA vs. World format



The 2026 NBA All-Star Game has arrived at the Clippers’ Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The game, featuring a brand-new USA vs. World format, is being held Sunday afternoon. The All-Star Game rosters were finalized earlier this week with all injury replacements being named and some of the teams shuffled around. 

The USA vs. World format features three teams in a round-robin tournament. Twenty-eight players in total were named All-Stars this season as Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox joined the ranks Thursday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis

The format will consist of a mini-tournament, where each team plays each other once to determine who will face off in a title game. There will be a USA Stars team and a USA Stripes team to split up the American talent, while Team World will have all the international NBA talent.

Some liberties were taken in dividing up the roster to even up the numbers. For instance, Karl-Anthony Towns, who was born in New Jersey but has played for the Dominican Republic national team, will be on Team World, although he also could’ve been placed on one of the two USA teams. The same goes for Norman Powell, who was slid over to Team World to replace the injured Giannis Antetokounmpo after first being placed on USA Stripes. Powell, born in San Diego, has played for the Jamaican national team. 

As far as the schedule goes, USA Stars — made up of the younger American All-Stars like Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham and Tyrese Maxey — and Team World will face Team World in Game 1. The winner of that matchup will face USA Stripes — made up of American vets like Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard — in Game 2. The loser of Game 1 will then also play USA Stripes in Game 3. At the end of the first three games, the two teams with the best record will face off in Game 4 to determine the champions. If there is a three-way tie, point differential will be used to determine the two teams that will advance.

2026 NBA All-Star Game rosters

The 2026 All-Star game tips off at 5 p.m. EST on NBC and Peacock. The players on the winning team will each walk away with $125,000. Players on the second-place team get $50,000, while players of the third-placed team get $25,000.

J.B. Bickerstaff of the Pistons is coaching the USA Stars team, which has two of his Detroit players in Jalen Duren and Cade Cunningham. Mitch Johnson of the Spurs will coach the USA Stripes team, and Team World will be led by Serbian-born Darko Rajaković of the Raptors.

PRAGUE — Thousands of demonstrators gathered across the Czech Republic on Sunday to voice their support for President Petr Pavel in his dispute with the country’s foreign minister.

Organizers from the Million Moments for Democracy non-governmental group said rallies took place in some 400 municipalities, including the second largest city of Brno. The demonstrators followed tens of thousands who rallied in Prague two weeks ago.

Pavel’s refusal to appoint a government minister representing the right-wing Motorists for Themselves Euro-skeptic party, which is led by Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, is at the core of the dispute.

Pavel said Filip Turek was ineligible to become the environment minister after a daily published posts from his Facebook page found to be racist, homophobic and sexist.

Turek apologized for some posts but denied posting others.

Macinka accused the president of violating the country’s constitution and threatened him with consequences if he fails to appoint his controversial associate. Pavel accused Macinka of blackmailing him.

“This is no longer just about the president,” head organizer Mikuláš Minář said. “It is time to make it clear that we are not Hungary or Slovakia – and that we will not let a group of oligarchs, extremists and thugs steal our country’s future.”

Pavel swore in a new government on Dec. 15 of populist Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, a billionaire turned politician, after his ANO, or YES, movement won big in the country’s October election and agreed to form a majority coalition with two small political groups, the Freedom and Direct Democracy anti-migrant party and the Motorists.

The coalition has on its agenda to steer the country away from supporting Ukraine, reject some key European Union policies and change the way the public broadcasters are financed, which many consider a threat for their independence.

Pavel, a retired army general, is a staunch supporter of Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion unlike the new Czech Cabinet, and pro-Russian governments of Hungary and Slovakia.

Before Miranda Lambert took the stage at the Daytona 500’s pre-race show, she said in a press conference that her set was going to be “short and sweet,” and packed with hits.

Fans (correctly) guessed that that meant “Fastest Girl in Town” was on the list. Songs like “Little Red Wagon” also felt appropriate for a NASCAR setting. But one of the most memorable moments from Lambert’s performance was a cover that nobody saw coming.

Lambert took a break from her own catalog to cover a brand-new hit from Ella Langley: “Choosin’ Texas.”

Released last October ahead of Langley’s upcoming Dandelion album, “Choosin’ Texas” has had an unprecedented turn on the charts. Last week, the song hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

That made it the first song from a female artist to reach the top spot on that chart, the Hot Country Songs chart and the Country Airplay chart. It’s Langley’s loudest debut to date — and that’s saying something, coming from the artist who released “You Look Like You Love Me.”

Why Did Miranda Lambert Cover Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas”?

But Lambert didn’t just cover “Choosin’ Texas” because it’s a massively popular song that her friend recorded.

Lambert is a co-writer on the hit, alongside Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor. The song’s rise to No. 1 on the Hot 100 also marks Lambert’s first time at the top of that chart.

Langley has said that they were inspired to write the song after Lambert shared a story about getting pulled over while she had a baby kangeroo in the backseat of her car.

“She said the lady cop pulled her over and she said, ‘Of course I had Texas plates on the back of my car,'” Langley recounted. “And I said, ‘Well, she’s from Texas, I can tell.'”

It’s still a little unclear what that kangeroo was doing in Lambert’s vehicle in the first place, but if you’re familiar with the singer’s passion for animal advocacy, the story doesn’t sound all that crazy.

The end result was that Lambert became very close to “Choosin’ Texas”: She co-wrote the song, and also partially inspired it.

Following a 5-1 win over Latvia and a slightly more dramatic 6-3 win against Denmark, the United States now faces the final boss of the preliminary round of the 2026 Olympic Games, Germany.

Germany won its first game 3-1 against Denmark but lost its second 4-3 to Latvia.

The U.S. currently sits atop Group C, with six points. The top team from each group gets a bye into the quarterfinal round of the tournament, which begins Wednesday.

Nine different players have scored a goal so far for the U.S., including Brady Tkachuk (2), Brock Nelson (2), Tage Thompson, Auston Matthews, Matt Boldy, Jack Eichel, Noah Hanifin, Jake Guentzel and Jack Hughes.

They’re going to check this thing every possible scientific way for anything that can bring them to *** clue or *** person. Tool drummer Danny Carey has gone on the record to say that “the goal” is for Tool to have a brand new record in the public’s hands by 2027. He’s even gone a step further to say that the progressive metal band would also ideally like to do a stint in Las Vegas at the Sphere after the release of said record.

When talking to Spiral Out in an interview uploaded two days ago (15th February), Carey said that the band is “working on a lot of new Tool songs right now” [as transcribed by Blabbermouth]. This comes about seven years after the release of their last endeavour, Fear Inoculum, back in 2019; the cinematic nature of Tool that they’ve come to be known for then supposedly isn’t amiss on the newer material. In fact, they’re “very much into” live performances and the cinematic nature of it all: “We’re hoping when we release the new record, maybe do a stint at the Sphere [in Las Vegas] ’cause I think we’re the perfect band for that. We’ve been talking to those guys.”

Carey then shares that it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, trying to score time in the Sphere, a 336-feet tall and 516-feet wide ball that hosts a variety of entertainment residencies (reports surfaced last year that Metallica may also be having discussions about a residency of their own). Carey elaborated that it was an expensive process and that it would cost a fair bit of money before they even started making it: “It’s a very expensive endeavor, and it takes a while to get into the black. I think [you need to play] quite a few shows before you make any money.”

The discussions of the residency have included a tour of the Sphere, with Carey sharing that he had just taken a tour of it. “I haven’t actually seen a full-on show, but they took [us around the venue] to show it off. It’s incredible, man.”

President Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a meeting at Mar-a-Lago in December that the president would support Israeli strikes on Iran’s ballistic missile program if a deal between Washington and Tehran could not be reached, according to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke to CBS News on condition of anonymity to discuss national security issues. 

Two months later, CBS News has learned that internal discussions between senior figures in the U.S. military and intelligence community have started to contemplate the possibility of supporting a fresh round of Israeli strikes on Iran. American deliberations have focused less on whether Israel could act than on how the United States might assist, including the provision of aerial refueling for Israeli aircraft and the delicate matter of securing overflight permission from countries along the potential route, said two other U.S. officials with knowledge of the matter. 

It’s not clear what countries would grant overflight permission for the U.S. to refuel Israeli aircraft for a potential strike. Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have all publicly said they would not allow their airspace to be used for any strikes on Iran or Iranian strikes on any other country. 

But the ongoing conversations inside the national security apparatus coincided with a visible show of force from the United States towards Iran. On Thursday, CBS News reported that a second U.S. aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford and its flotilla of warships, would be dispatched to the Middle East, joining an already substantial American presence. Four U.S. officials said the carrier strike group is expected to redeploy from the Caribbean, a movement that would place formidable firepower within range of Iran at a moment of heightened strain. 

All of it comes as the Trump administration pursues negotiations with Tehran over its nuclear program. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu remains openly skeptical of diplomacy with Iran and flew to Washington last Wednesday for talks with President Trump. Netanyahu released multiple statements insisting that any Iran accord include restrictions on ballistic missiles and funding of proxies in the region, issues that would extend any deal beyond the nuclear program itself.

Iranian officials have signaled a conditional willingness to curb some uranium enrichment in exchange for relief from punishing economic sanctions, but it is unclear what that looks like and talks have yet to produce any written agreement. 

The U.S. and Iran are expected to hold a second round of nuclear talks in Geneva on Tuesday in an effort to reach a deal that prevents war. Iranian state media is reporting that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation are on their way to Geneva for the indirect talks, according to the Associated Press. 

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sunday that he has “made clear he prefers diplomacy” on Iran, and he confirmed that U.S. envoy Steve Wiktoff and Jared Kushner are traveling “to have important meetings” with Iran.

“We’ll see how that comes out,” he added.

Mr. Trump, speaking at the White House on Friday, framed the carrier deployment as prudent insurance if negotiations between the United States and Iran fail. By shifting additional naval power into the region, Mr. Trump appears intent on sharpening the leverage behind his demands.
