SATAN Postpone 2026 Shows As Vocalist BRIAN ROSS Prepares For “Major Life-Saving Preventative Surgery”
Long-running heavy metal titans Satan have announced that vocalist Brian Ross will undergo a “major, life-saving preventative surgery” this spring, forcing the band to postpone all scheduled performances for the remainder of 2026.
In a statement shared via social media, the band wrote: “Fans and friends, with a heavy heart, we must announce a break from scheduled performances. Our singer, the inimitable Brian Ross, has just learned that he must have a major, life-saving preventative surgery in April/May 2026.
“His recovery will take several months. This sadly means that Satan is forced to postpone all planned concerts for 2026, with the exception of this week’s shows in Spain which will go ahead as planned.
“This is not what we wanted, but we trust that you all want Brian to take care of his health, recover fully and come back stronger and more powerful than ever in 2027 Thank you so much for your unwavering love and support!”
While the news comes as a disappointment to fans, the band emphasized that Ross‘s health and full recovery are the top priority. The remaining Spanish shows scheduled for this week will proceed as planned, after which Satan will step away from the stage for the rest of the year.

Eli Manning unbothered after missing out on Hall of Fame: ‘I’m not bitter’
Eli Manning was among the Super Bowl MVPs who were acknowledged prior to Super Bowl LX. But unlike the others in attendance, the former New York Giants quarterback was the only eligible one who is not currently a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Despite a decorated career that includes being a two-time Super Bowl MVP, Manning missed the cut again this year, his second year of eligibility for enshrinement in Canton, Ohio. Despite the snub, Manning doesn’t seem concerned about his place in history.
“It doesn’t keep me up at night,” Manning said in an interview with Jon Gruden. “I’m not gonna be bitter at it. I’m not bitter at the game of football. I loved my teammates. I love the relationships, the friendships, the championships, the parades.
“When I think about football, I think about touchdowns and my buddies and wins and plane rides home. I don’t think about the interceptions. I don’t think about the bad stuff. I think about the positive things. And so if I ever get in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, I’ll take it as a positive and I’m not gonna think about the years I had to wait to get in.”

Manning perhaps has the most complicated Hall of Fame case in history. He is one of just six players to have multiple Super Bowl MVPs (the other five are Hall of Famers Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, and future Hall of Famers Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes). He authored two of the most legendary playoff runs in NFL history that culminated in memorable upset wins over the New England Patriots in two Super Bowls, including preventing the 2007 Patriots from joining the 1972 Miami Dolphins as the NFL’s only perfect teams.
On top of that, Manning was top-10 all-time in career passing yards and touchdown passes at the time of his retirement. He also had the third-most consecutive starts (210) by a quarterback in league history behind only Hall of Famer Brett Favre and 2004 draft classmate Philip Rivers.
While those are certainly Hall of Fame worthy bonafides, Manning’s less flattering numbers are undoubtedly the reasons why he is not a Hall of Famer yet. He led the league in interceptions on three different occasions, completed just 60.3% of his regular season passes and won as many regular season games (117) as a starter as he lost.
Manning hasn’t made it yet, but it’s a safe to assume that he ultimately will be selected for the Hall of Fame at some point. The same can also be said of Bill Belichick, who shockingly was not selected in his first year of eligibility.
Belichick didn’t get selected despite winning eight total Super Bowls and 333 games as a head coach, and Manning has his theory as to why.
“I think he pissed off so many people because he was beating them for so long and didn’t give great interviews that they held a grudge against him,” he said. “But that shouldn’t take away from what he did on the field and winning football games.”

Kyiv — Negotiators from Russia and Ukraine engaged Tuesday in a third round of U.S.-mediated peace talks, but there was little hope of any imminent breakthrough on a deal to end the deadliest war on European soil in 80 years.
The negotiators sat down in Geneva a week before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine was set to enter its fifth year.
Expectations for the negotiations in Switzerland were low because Kyiv and Moscow remain a long way apart on two fundamental issues: Russia’s demand to be granted internationally recognized ownership of occupied territory in eastern Ukraine, and what measures are put in place for Kyiv’s Western partners — most importantly the U.S. — to guarantee its security going forward once a ceasefire is implemented.
Russia currently controls around 20% of Ukrainian land, but over almost four years of grinding war, those territorial gains are thought to have cost Russia over a million casualties.
Despite that huge cost, Putin has refused to budge on his demand that a huge swath of eastern Ukraine be formally handed over to Russia as part of any peace deal.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been consistent in rejecting such a sacrifice to end the war. He posted on social media as recently as Monday that it would be a “big mistake to allow the aggressor to take something.”
He’s been backed up on that point by a number of European leaders and the head of NATO, but the Trump administration has at times pushed Ukraine to accept some territorial concession to achieve a peace deal.
Ukraine, which was first invaded by Russia in 2014, eight years before Putin ordered the full-scale assault on Feb. 24, 2022, wants its partners in Washington and Europe to commit to preventing any further Russian assaults — even as the current one shows no signs of letting up despite the diplomacy taking place in Geneva.

Ukraine’s air force said Tuesday that Russia launched 396 drones and 29 missiles overnight. It said 25 of the missiles and 367 of the drones were intercepted, but Zelenskyy pointed to the latest attack as further evidence that Moscow “disregards peace efforts.”
“Strength of pressure on the Russian Federation — sanctions pressure and steady, rapid support for the Ukrainian army and our air defense,” would be needed to back up the diplomacy, he said in a social media post.
The war launched by Putin nearly four years ago has forced millions of Ukrainians from their homes and killed around 15,000 civilians, according to the United Nations.
This winter, the weather in Ukraine has been particularly harsh, with temperatures well below zero, and part of Russia’s strategy has been to strike Ukraine’s power grid, leaving civilians with a disrupted supply of electricity and heat in the freezing conditions.

Champions League recap: Vinicius leads Madrid to win vs. Benfica, PSG with comeback
THE CHAMPIONS!
We’ve got a fresh slate of UEFA Champions League action today as the competition enters a new phase, with the first legs of the knockout phase playoffs determining who advances to the round of 16.
Headlining Tuesday’s matches is a rematch from the final day of the league phase, as José Mourinho’s Benfica looked to stun Álvaro Arbeloa’s Real Madrid in Lisbon again in Lisbon. However, it was Vinícius Júnior that got the winning goal to help the visitors snatch a crucial 1-0 away win.
Elsewhere, it’s an all-Francophone affair with AS Monaco taking on defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, and while Les Monégasques took an early lead with two goals from Folarin Balogun, the defending Champions League completed the comeback with a 3-2 win.
Finally, Borussia Dortmund welcomed Atalanta but finished the match as winners, beating the Italian club 2-0.

Peru’s Congress removes interim President Jerí as he faces corruption allegations
LIMA, Peru — Peru’s Congress on Tuesday voted to remove interim President José Jerí from office as he faces corruption allegations, triggering a fresh wave of political instability just weeks before the nation’s April presidential election.
Jerí is under a preliminary investigation into corruption and influence peddling, stemming from a series of undisclosed meetings with two Chinese executives.
With 75 votes in favor, 24 against and 3 abstentions, Peru’s legislature voted to remove Jerí from the position he had assumed on Oct. 10. His predecessor, Dina Boluarte, was dismissed as a crime wave gripped the country.
Jerí’s removal from office is the latest chapter in a prolonged political crisis in a country that has seen seven presidents since 2016, and is about to hold a general election amid widespread public outcry over the surge in violent crime.
Lawmakers will choose a new president from among their members to govern until July 28, when the interim leader will hand over the office to the winner of the April 12 presidential election. Jerí will return to his position as a legislator until July 28, when the new Congress also takes office.
The accusations against Jerí stemmed from a leaked report regarding a clandestine December meeting with two Chinese executives. One attendee holds active government contracts, while the other is currently under investigation for alleged involvement in an illegal logging operation.
Jerí has denied wrongdoing. He said he met the executives to organize a Peruvian-Chinese festivity, but his opponents have accused him of corruption.
Despite a revolving door of presidents, Peru’s economy has remained stable.
The Andean nation had an external debt to gross domestic product ratio of 32% in 2024, one of the lowest in Latin America, and the government has welcomed foreign investment in areas like mining and infrastructure.
