As it turns out, Pearce spent several days before the show in and out of doctors’ offices trying to repair her teeth, lips and face after a gnarly injury. The country singer recently shared how painful those days were and the story behind the injury.

In a video posted to her social media, Pearce recounts being at a Halloween party just days before Country Music’ Biggest Night. She fell down a flight of stairs and landed right on her face.
Not only did the fall knock her out, it also knocked out a good chunk of her front teeth.

The “Church Girl” singer also shared what the next few days were like for her beginning with a trip to the dentist. Even though it was a Sunday, a dentist agreed to come into the office to treat her injury. They patched up her teeth as best as he could but her lip required stitches – seven to be exact.
In the days following her injury, Pearce spent hours under a cold compress and slathered her face in Aquaphor to help speed up the healing process from her stitches and the scrapes she sustained in the fall.
“By the grace of God and Aquaphor and these amazing doctors, my face looked pretty normal to be able to go to the show,” she recounts.

Not only was Pearce attending the show, she also performed that night. She sang her song “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Charles Kelley stepping in for Lee Brice who is featured on the track.
The “Truck on Fire” singer says she had an audible lisp while singing because her teeth were pretty loose, but she made it through the performance. She also ended up taking home the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year for that very song.

“The events that had to all happen for me to make it to the show then for me to win, was a moment that I’ll never forget,” she shares with her fans.
The next morning she underwent three root canals to fix her broken teeth.
“And I had to read in press and all of the people online were talking about what a bad lip job I got done,” she adds.
It’s scary to experience a mouth injury as a singer and even more unnerving when the injury is to your vocal cords.

Ilia Malinin hints at ‘inevitable crash’ amid Olympic pressure
MILAN — Ilia Malinin posted a video on social media Monday juxtaposing images of his many triumphs with a black-and-white image of the U.S. figure skater with his head buried in his hands, and a caption hinting at an “inevitable crash” amid the pressure of the Olympics while teasing that a “version of the story” is coming on Saturday.
That is when Malinin is expected to skate in the traditional exhibition gala to wrap up the Olympic figure skating program.
Malinin, who helped the U.S. clinch the team gold medal early in the Winter Games, was the heavy favorite to add another gold in the individual event. But he fell twice and struggled throughout his free skate on Friday, ending up in eighth.
He acknowledged afterward that the pressure of the Olympics had worn him down, saying: “I didn’t really know how to handle it.”
Malinin alluded again to the weight he felt while competing in Milan in the caption to his social media video.
“On the world’s biggest stage, those who appear the strongest may still be fighting invisible battles on the inside,” wrote the 21-year-old Malinin. “Even your happiest memories can end up tainted by the noise. Vile online hatred attacks the mind and fear lures it into the darkness, no matter how hard you try to stay sane through the endless insurmountable pressure. It all builds up as these moments flash before your eyes, resulting in an inevitable crash.”
Malinin, who is expected to chase a third consecutive world title next month in Prague, had been unbeaten in 14 events over more than two years. Yet while Malinin always seemed to exude a preternatural calm that belied his age, the son of Olympic skaters Tatiana Malinina and Roman Skorniakov had admitted early in the Winter Games that he was feeling the pressure.
The first time came after an uneven short program in the team event, when he finished behind Yuma Kagiyama of Japan — the eventual individual silver medalist. Malinin referenced the strain of the Olympics again after the Americans had won the team gold medal.
But he seemed to be the loose, confident Malinin that his fans had come to know after winning the individual short program. He even playfully faked that he was about to do a risky backflip on the carpeted runway during his free skate introduction.
The program got off to a good start with a quad lutz, but the problems began when he bailed out of his quad axel. He ended up falling twice later in the program, and the resulting score was his worst since the U.S. International Classic in September 2022.
Malinin was magnanimous afterward, hugging and congratulating surprise gold medalist Mikhail Shaidorov of Kazakhstan. He then answered a barrage of questions from reporters with poise and maturity that few would have had in such a situation.
“The nerves just went, so overwhelming,” he said, “and especially going into that starting pose, I just felt like all the traumatic moments of my life really just started flooding my head. So many negative thoughts that flooded into there and I could not handle it.”
“All I know is that it wasn’t my best skate,” Malinin added later, “and it was definitely something I wasn’t expecting. And it’s done, so I can’t go back and change it, even though I would love to.”
Strike on market in Sudan kills at least 28 people, rights group says
CAIRO — Strikes on a market in central Sudan ‘s Kordofan region killed at least 28 people and wounded dozens, said a rights group on Monday, as the war between the army and a paramilitary group nears its three-year mark.
Emergency Lawyers, a rights group tracking violence against civilians, said in a statement that drones bombed a market in Sudri locality in North Kordofan province on Sunday, during a time the market was bustling with civilians, “exacerbating the humanitarian tragedy.” The group said the number of casualties was likely to rise.
“The repeated use of drones to target populated areas shows a grave disregard for civilian lives and signals an escalation that threatens what remains of daily life in the province. Therefore, we demand an immediate halt to drone attacks by both sides of the conflict,” the statement said.
Over a week ago, a drone close to the city of Rahad in North Kordofan hit a vehicle carrying displaced families, killing at least 24 people, including eight children. A day before that attack, a World Food Program aid convoy was targeted.
The fighting between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese military erupted into a full-blown war across the country in April 2023. So far, at least 40,000 people have been killed and 12 million displaced, according to the World Health Organization. Aid groups say the true war death toll could be many times higher, as the fighting in vast and remote areas impedes access.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said recently the Kordofan region remains “volatile and a focus of hostilities” as the warring parties vie for control of strategic areas.
Both warring parties have been accused of atrocities.
The U.N. Human Rights Office issued a report on Friday saying that more than 6,000 people were killed in over three days when the RSF unleashed “a wave of intense violence … shocking in its scale and brutality” in Sudan’s Darfur region in late October.
The RSF’s offensive to capture the city of el-Fasher, that used to be a military stronghold, in late October included widespread atrocities that amounted to war crimes and possible crimes against humanity, according to the U.N.

The Best Airbnb Experiences in New York City
There’s a lot of tours in New York City (I’ve highlighted my favorites here) but I think one thing people don’t do enough of is Airbnb experience. Most of us know Airbnb through their stay features but they also have a lot of experiences where you can get a local to show you around. I actually like these experiences more than traditional tours because they have locals who share something they are passionate about, they are small groups, and they are usually a bit more off the beaten path.
I don’t think people take these tours enough and they are always one of my favorite things to look for whenever I travel anywhere in the world. New York City has a ton of options you can choose from. Here are my favorites:
Explore Brooklyn’s Pizza Scene
Pizza and NYC go hand in hand like bread and butter and this Brooklyn pizza tour run by travel writer Dani Hienrich takes you to some of the best spots in the city while also giving you a really detailed history of pizza in the city (who knew slives weren’t a thing until the 1940s!). I’ve taken a lot of pizza tours in the city and I think dani runs the best one because she explains the history, is super fun, and it’s a more off the beaten path tour so you’re not being herded around in a large group of twenty.
Sketch Masterpieces at the Met Museum
In this fun experience, you visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and meet,X, a seasoned artist who will guide you on a sketching journey. You’ll begin with a friendly introduction and sketching warm-ups, then walk through selected galleries pausing to draw iconic sculptures and artworks of your choice. Along the way, he’ll also explain the history of sculpting and painting techniques and the sotry behind some of the exhibits. It’s definitely a fun and hands on way to explore the MET.
Explore African American History
On this walking tour in Lower Manhattan, you’ll meet your host Larry at the National Museum of the American Indian and then walk through a tapestry of hidden Black New York: from the site of Bowling Green (where enslaved Africans helped build the city), to remnants of Fort Amsterdam, and to the location of the 17th-century enslaved houses. You’ll pass Wall Street to learn about its slave-market past, visit Federal Hall and a former free-African oyster house, walk through Foley Square (site of the original execution grounds), and conclude at the African Burial Ground National Monument. Larry is one of the best tour guides I have ever had. He’s so fun, engaging, funny, and filled with a ton of knowledge. I love this tour and learned a lot on it. It’s such a cool and unique way to see lower Manhattan. He also runs an amazing Harlem tour too!
Create and Taste a New York Pizza
If you want to do more than eat pizza, visit Paulie Gee’s, where your host Logan will guide you through the history of New York–style pizza before you shape your own dough, choose from a variety of sauces and toppings, fire your creation in a wood-fired oven. Afterwards, you’ll sit down to eat your creation as well as some other famous dishes from the restaurant. It’s run and interactive and Logan is a really interesting and personable host. Located in Greepoint, it’s an area most tourists skip so afterwards be sure to explore this locals only part of town.

BEHEMOTH No Longer To Play In One City In India Due To Threats Of “Arrest Or Physical Danger” From “Religious Christian Groups”
Behemoth is having a rough go in Europe and Asia at the moment – from having their scheduled tour dates in Turkey cancelled by Turkish authorities because of “incompatibility with our societal values,” and now being on the receiving end of threats from “religious Christian groups” that could potentially cause “arrest or physical danger,” to the band, according to a statement from Behemoth made on social media a few hours ago.
The band posted a lengthy statement in which they describe the situation they’ve been in regarding their March 3rd show in Bangalore, India while on their ‘Chant Of The Eastern Lands’ tour, saying:
“Over the past few weeks, we and our team have received numerous credible threats stemming from religious Christian groups who have been applying pressure to authorities and to the promoter in an effort to stop the show from taking place. These threats have raised serious concerns regarding the band’s safety and security, including the possibility of arrest or physical danger.
“We have been in close contact with the local promoter throughout this process. We want to make it clear that this cancellation is not the fault of the promoter, who has acted in good faith at every stage. Despite genuine efforts, it was not possible to obtain sufficient assurances that the band would be protected from legal consequences or security risks. On that basis, we have made the decision to cancel the show.
“This is another example of religious fanaticism attempting to impose itself on artistic expression, something the band has recently faced in Turkey. It is deeply concerning to see what feels like a growing movement toward censorship around the world. In this modern age, artists should not face intimidation, threats, or the risk of imprisonment for performing their art.
“Regardless of religion, race, or culture, freedom of expression must remain a fundamental principle. We believe it is important that people stand together in support of liberal values and creative freedom.
“To our legions in India, we are deeply disappointed that we will not be able to perform for you on this occasion. We appreciate your support and hope to return soon.
“Stay strong. Stay free.”

Bradley Chubb landing spots: Best fits with Dolphins set to release pass rusher
The Bradley Chubb era in Miami is over, as the Dolphins are set to release the veteran pass rusher, according to multiple reports.
Miami originally acquired Chubb in 2022, trading first- and fourth-round picks, along with running back Chase Edmonds, to the Denver Broncos in exchange for Chubb and a fifth-round pick. He then signed a five-year, $110 million contract extension with Miami that was originally set to keep him with the Dolphins through the 2027 season.
However, Chubb was set to draw a base salary of $18.5 million and count $31.5 million against the cap in 2026, so the Dolphins will cut ties rather than bring him back at that number. Now he’ll hit the open market at age 29 (he turns 30 in June) and will be free to sign with any team.
Chubb had 8.5 sacks and eight tackles for loss in 2024, but the sack total probably overstates his effectiveness as a pass rusher. That figure ranked tied for 20th in the NFL, but he tied for 40th in pressures (48) and checked in 68th in pressure rate (13.0%), according to TruMedia. His 11% pass-rush win rate, per Pro Football Focus, was also below average.
Still, he has something left in the tank, and with that in mind, we wanted to take a look at some of the teams that might fit once the Dolphins officially grant his release.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have been looking for pass-rush help for a while. They checked in just 23rd in pressure rate last season, via TruMedia, and need someone to rush opposite Laiatu Latu, who also collected 8.5 sacks in 2025. Indianapolis has just south of $36 million in cap space heading into the offseason, according to Over the Cap, and should have plenty of room to add Chubb regardless of what type of salary he commands.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers could have a pretty solid defense if they could rush the passer even a little. They finished 31st in pressure rate during the 2025 regular season, with only the New York Jets generating a sack, hit or hurry on a smaller share of opponent dropbacks. Carolina doesn’t have much cap room this offseason, but if it can land Chubb on an affordable short-term deal, he’d be worth adding to a room that lacks juice.
Dallas Cowboys
Dallas actually pressured the quarterback pretty well in 2025. The issue is that the Cowboys have exactly two edge rushers under contract for 2026: Donovan Ezeiruaku and James Houston. They need to fill out the room with several bodies, and bringing in Chubb could make sense so long as they don’t break the bank, given their other defensive needs.
Chicago Bears
The Bears, like the Colts and Panthers, didn’t get after the quarterback much this past season. They ranked 29th in pressure rate despite employing Montez Sweat on one side of the line. The rest of the edge group just did not have any juice whatsoever. Chubb isn’t the type of player who will solve the problem single-handedly, but as part of a multi-pronged approach, he could make sense.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans have needs on both sides of the ball, but they also have more cap space than any team in the NFL, with over $100 million to spend, according to Over the Cap. They could use some of it to bring in Chubb to help an edge room that simply doesn’t have many bodies at the moment.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs tried to juice up their pass rush last offseason by adding Haason Reddick. It didn’t work out. They could take a similar flier on Chubb, who has at least been productive more recently than Reddick, who was coming off a lost season in New York and Philadelphia when Tampa signed him last year.
