ARCHSPIRE Unleash Blistering New Single “Red Goliath” Ahead Of Too Fast To Die

0

Archspire, widely hailed as the fastest band on the planet (or something), have unleashed their latest single, “Red Goliath.” The track marks the third release from their upcoming album, Too Fast To Die, set to arrive on April 10, 2026. If anyone’s survived all the singles, anyway.

Guitarist Dean Lamb shared his thoughts on the new track: “Have you ever wanted something sooooo bad, but it just didn’t exist or seem possible? Like hot carbonated coffee or underwear that doesn’t make your back fat pop out like two extra butt cheeks? Well, that’s exactly how we felt writing our song, ‘Red Goliath!’

“It just seemed as impossible as a grade 7 math problem. But somehow, by the grace of Satan, we managed to pull off writing the most couch humping, super sonic technical black metal song known to the universe. We hope you all absolutely despise this evil song as much as we do!”

Archspire is set to destroy North America from April through June with openers Undeath, Crown Magnetar, and Mutilation Barbecue. The tour kicks off on April 24 at The Palace Theatre in Calgary, AB and wraps up on June 6 at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver, BC. Get your tickets here.

UFC 326 predictions, best bets to consider for the main card in Las Vegas

0

The BMF title is on the line on Saturday, when Max Holloway defends against Charles Oliveira in a clash of two true legends. Holloway vs. Oliveira serves as the main event of UFC 326 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Holloway and Oliveira have already put together Hall of Fame-worthy resumes, with Holloway a former featherweight champion and Oliveira having held the lightweight championship, in addition to both men facing many of the best of their generation.

Holloway is defending the title he won by defeating Justin Gaethje with a now-iconic last-second knockout at UFC 300. He has defended the symbolic title once, taking a clear decision over Dustin Poirier in his most recent fight. Sandwiched in between those victories is a knockout loss to Ilia Topuria for the featherweight championship.

Oliveira is the UFC’s all-time leader in finishes (21), submissions (17) and post-fight bonuses (21), making him a perfect challenger for Holloway’s BMF crown.

UFC 326: How Max Holloway has continued to prove Khabib Nurmagomedov wrong: 'I didn't want an easy ride'

Saturday night also features some intriguing matchups across multiple divisions. Top-10 ranked middleweights collide in the co-main event when Caio Borralho takes on Reinier de Rider. Borralho suffered his first defeat in a decade in his last appearance. He busted onto the scene in 2022 and ripped off seven straight wins. “RDR” also looks to get back in the win column after a surprising loss to Brendan Allen last time out ended a five-fight win streak. Plus, rising bantamweight contender Raul Rosas Jr. is back when he takes on veteran Rob Font. And lightweight sluggers Michael Johnson and Drew Dober are also set to throw down on the main card.

With such a big fight anchoring a card from the world’s fight capital, there will be plenty of interest in the fights at the sportsbooks. With that in mind, we’ve once again looked at all five main card fights to identify our best bets for each.

After going 31-25 for our best bets in 2025, we are sitting at 5-5 after the first two numbered events of 2026. Now we look ahead to this weekend, with our only rule remaining that all bets must be at odds of -250 or better. Let’s take a look at this week’s picks with odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

Gregory Rodrigues vs. Brunno Ferreira

Gregory Rodrigues moneyline (-185)

The first fight on the main card is interesting for a few reasons. This is a rematch of a January 2023 bout, which Ferreira won by knockout, and it came together after Paulo Costa pulled out of a planned fight with Ferreira. That first fight was Ferreira’s debut in the Octagon, and the knockout came as something of a shock. Rodrigues has gone 5-1 since the loss, with Ferreira on a 5-2 run. Rodriguez has a significant height advantage and also lands more strikes per minute, though he absorbs more strikes per minute as well. Rodrigues is probably the more well-rounded fighter, however, and can more easily pull wrestling into this fight, which shades this rematch in his direction, regardless of how the first fight played out.

Bet UFC 326 at DraftKings Sportsbook, where new users get $300 in bonus bets with a winning $5 wager:

Drew Dober vs. Michael Johnson

Fight to end by KO/TKO/DQ (-200)

Knockout is the most likely method of victory for both men, according to the odds. Johnson has three knockout losses in his career to four for Dober, not extremely high rates, but both men have been fairly vulnerable of late. I don’t have a ton of confidence in either man being the one to get that KO or TKO, but this does have all the makings of a fight that ends with the referee jumping in and waiving off the fight to prevent further damage. We can simply take the fight ending by KO for either man at a still fairly solid -200.

Rob Font vs. Raul Rosas Jr.

Rob Font moneyline (+195)

I might be overthinking this fight, but Rosas has left me feeling very underwhelmed in his two most recent wins against Aoriqileng and Vince Morales. Font is not an elite fighter, but he is a very good, very competent one. The list of men who have defeated Font mostly reads like a “who’s who” of the generation’s best 135-pounders. Still just 21 years old, it’s too early to know if Rosas fits into that group, and Font also could be well past his prime at 38. We’re now three years removed from Rosas suffering a surprising loss to Christian Rodriguez in just his second UFC fight, but Font still feels like a very live underdog in this one, and it’s fun to mix an underdog into the best bets. This whole bet rests on Font being able to keep the fight standing, however, which is risky. Rosas averages four takedowns per 15 minutes, while Font only defends takedowns at a 43% clip. Still, the veteran has the tools to take it to the youngster in ways none of Rosas’ previous opponents could.

Caio Borralho vs. Reinier de Ridder

Borralho to win by KO/TKO/DQ or decision (-225)

Were both men coming off victories, this fight would be something akin to a title eliminator. Instead, de Ridder followed his win over Robert Whittaker with a loss to Brendan Allen, while Borralho lost to Nassourdine Imavov after defeating Jared Cannonier. Prior to those defeats, both men were undefeated in the Octagon. Looking at those fights, de Ridder’s game is the one that causes me the most concern. He faded badly against Allen, and his stand-up is not great, even if he was able to finish off Bo Nickal with some impressive knees. Borralho is better on the feet and is also a solid Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt who shouldn’t be overwhelmed by de Ridder if the fight hits the ground. Borralho’s advantage on the feet should be enough to shade the fight in his direction, whether that means a knockout or winning a decision.

Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira

Max Holloway moneyline (-220)

I can’t remember the last time I picked against Oliveira, but stylistically, this is a very good fight for Holloway. Oliveira’s combination of very good striking and elite submission skills makes him a tough out for anyone, but Holloway’s boxing is next level, and he successfully defends 83% of takedowns. Oliveira doesn’t have the same level of hands as Holloway, and he will have to close distance past those punches if he wants to try and drag the fight to the ground. It’s certainly possible for Oliveira to get the job done, but it’s a mighty big ask against a fighter who is very much built to nullify the Brazilian’s game. Over 2.5 rounds is tempting at -175, but a quick finish is very much in play for both of these men, so we’ll stick with the fighter more built to win this specific fight.

Russia providing intelligence to Iran about U.S. positions, sources say

0

Russia is providing intelligence to Iran regarding U.S. positions during the ongoing military operation, three sources, including a senior U.S. official with direct knowledge, told CBS News on Friday.

The intelligence assistance is the first known assistance Russia is giving to Iran, as the U.S. and Israel continue to strike at the Iranian regime and its military capabilities. The intelligence aid from Russia was first reported by the Washington Post

Earlier Friday, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russia’s government is in “dialogue” with representatives of the Iranian leadership. Peskov’s comments, his only remarks in relation to Iran at his Friday briefing, came after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Russia and China were assisting Iran politically and “in other ways.”

Peskov declined to comment to the Post when asked about the intelligence findings.

The White House did not directly comment on Russia’s involvement, telling CBS News that “the Iranian regime is being absolutely crushed.”

“Their ballistic missile retaliation is decreasing every day, their navy is being wiped out, their production capacity is being demolished, and proxies are hardly putting up a fight. Operation Epic Fury is meeting or surpassing all of its goals, and the United States will continue to dominate,” Anna Kelly, White House principal deputy press secretary, said in a statement.

Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, when asked during an appearance on Fox News about Russia providing intelligence to Iran on U.S. assets, said she could not comment on “intelligence reports that are leaked to the press.”

“Whether or not this happened, frankly, it doesn’t really matter, because President Trump and the United States military are absolutely decimating the rogue Iranian terrorist regime,” she added.

Later she told reporters, “It clearly is not making a difference with respect to the military operations in Iran, because we are completely decimating them.”

So far, six U.S. troops have been killed in the military offensive the Trump administration is calling Operation Epic Fury. They died when an Iranian strike hit a tactical operations center where they were working in Kuwait.  All six were members of a U.S. Army Reserve unit based in Des Moines, Iowa.

President Trump is expected to attend the dignified transfer of those service members when they are returned to the United States.

Ashley McBryde Breaks Down Talking About Rehab: ‘I Was Gonna Die’

0

Ashley McBryde says the intervention that led her to rehab saved her life. It came after a wild night out with another artist. She woke up to find water and found her team waiting for her instead.

The “Light On In the Kitchen” singer went to rehab to treat an addiction to alcohol in 2022. A year later she started to share her story with fans.

  • Ashley McBryde was a recent guest on the Bobbycast, Bobby Bones’ Netflix podcast.
  • This year, she’s released two new songs from an upcoming album: “What If We Don’t” and “Arkansas Mud.”
  • A conversation about the filming of the video for “Arkansas Mud” led to an emotional 20-minute-long conversation about life before and after rehab.

“I woke up at another artist’s house, another female artist. And if I told you who, you would not be shocked,” McBryde says. “And I woke up in a bed that’s not mine, in pajamas that aren’t mine, and was like, oh my god, that must have been a doozy.”

Ashley McBryde: An Intervention Led Her To Rehab

Feeling thirsty, she went to get a glass of water but as she entered the living room she found that artist, her manager, her best friend and more from her professional team.

“And they said, ‘We need you to stop.’ And I said, ‘I need me to stop, too,'” McBryde recalls.

A clip of the interview was shared on social media but the full interview goes much deeper, into why she quickly agreed to rehab and if she ever wanted to leave. Spoiler alert: she did.

Asked why she didn’t walk out, an emotional McBryde admits it was because, “I was gonna die.”

“And if this goes any farther, this is really, really ugly. This is — like they’ll have to make a movie about it bad,” she adds.

Ashley McBryde’s Non-Alcoholic Bar

The conversation is inspiring if you or a loved one is in a similar position. She’s now three-plus years sober and confident in her ability to write and create music without help of drugs or alcohol.

Part of that journey has been creating safe spaces for others who want to enjoy live music free of alcohol. Last summer, she announced the non-alcoholic Redemption bar at Eric Church‘s Chiefs on Broadway.

The full 1-hour-20-minute-long conversation is also available wherever audio podcasts are found. McBryde’s next studio album is expected this year. This spring she’s on tour with Church.

Human rights court orders Peru to pay compensation for a 1997 forced sterilization death

0

LIMA, Peru — The Inter-American Court of Human Rights issued a judgment and ordered Peru to pay reparations for the death of a mother of three who died in 1997 as part of a forced sterilization program under the administration of the late Alberto Fujimori.

The landmark ruling on Thursday is the first by Latin America’s highest tribunal regarding forced sterilizations in Peru, a policy that systematically targeted impoverished and Indigenous women.

The court revealed that Celia Ramos was only 34 when she died, leaving behind three daughters in her Andean village. Her death in 1997 followed a harrowing experience at a state health center where, rather than receiving the care she sought, she was coerced into a tubal ligation. The procedure was performed under negligent conditions, lacking both the proper equipment and the medication required to manage complications.

Ramos experienced a severe allergic reaction during the surgery but was not moved to intensive care for another half-hour. She died 19 days later, on July 22, 1997. The state then bypassed a formal autopsy and left her family in the dark, providing no clear explanation for her sudden decline, the court said.

As part of the ruling, the court has ordered Peru to pay approximately $340,000 to the Ramos family. This includes reimbursement for the medical expenses incurred during the 1997 attempt to save her life, as well as compensation for the loss of income she would have earned throughout her productive years.

Peru’s ministry of justice did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday from The Associated Press.

In August 2024, the Peruvian justice system overturned a criminal indictment against Fujimori in the forced sterilization case, rejecting a prosecution appeal. Following Fujimori’s death in 2024 the proceedings reverted to the formal complaint stage. Now the focus has shifted to determining the criminal responsibility of other high-ranking former officials, including several former health ministers.
