Riley Green Confirms His Relationship Status

0

It does not look like Riley Green loves anyone at the moment.

The singer with the most relationship rumors in country music says he’s single. Actually, he had a little fun with the question.

“I find out who I’m dating weekly on social media,” he tells Bev Rainey of Westwood One’s Country Nights With Bev Rainey show.

  • As Riley Green and Ella Langley‘s song “You Look Like You Love Me” became popular, rumors of a romance began popping up.
  • Langley told Taste of Country they were not dating last fall, but the rumors persisted.
  • More recently, fans have wanted to link him to Megan Moroney.

“I’m not (dating anyone),” Green says.

“I’m rumored to have dated a lot of people. I kind of understand that. People always long for that Tim and Faith, Johnny and June, George and Tammy thing,” he admits. “Me and Ella have two giant songs together, and I think fans want to believe that what you’re singing about is real.”

There was never much hard evidence of a Green and Langley romance, and both parties have as much as played coy about it.

Moroney, however, was a little cheeky recently: Beneath a TikTok video of a fan singing one of her songs, she commented, “Need the shirt.”

See if you can spot why that’s a big deal.

Fans and media have been asking Green about who he’s dating since he debuted in 2018. He hasn’t shared too much, but did walk a red carpet with a woman named Sophia Sansone in 2022.

Currently, Green’s song “Worst Way” is doing nothing to turn people away from his romantic pursuits. The steamy love song made Taste of Country’s list of the 10 Best Country Songs of Summer 2025 as the love song of the summer. A music video for the song may make you sweat.

Green and Langley performed at Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest on Thursday (June 5).

Spurs’ Wembanyama ‘confident’ after hyperextending left knee

0

SAN ANTONIO — Spurs star center Victor Wembanyama limped off the court in the fourth quarter of Wednesday night’s 134-132 win over the New York Knicks after his left knee buckled as he tried to secure a rebound under the basket.

Wembanyama said afterward that he suffered a hyperextension and that initial tests did not reveal any other issues. He said he would have more testing done Thursday.

“I was confident. I was this close to coming back in the game,” Wembanyama said. “[They] had to hold me back. It was just a hyperextension, so it should be minimal. We’ve got to do everything tomorrow still to check that everything’s OK.”

Wembanyama added, “I expect to be back the next game.”

Wembanyama was injured with 10:32 left in the game with the Spurs trailing 106-92 as he battled under the basket with Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordan Clarkson for a rebound. Wembanyama immediately grabbed at his left knee after the play. Teammate Stephon Castle helped Wembanyama back to his feet, and the Frenchman hobbled to the locker room under his own power.

Wembanyama appeared to tell Castle “I’m fine” as the guard helped him up and appeared to deliver the same message to the sellout crowd of 18,062 as he hobbled off the floor and headed to the locker room.

Wembanyama returned to the bench with 1:22 left to play wearing team warmups, but he did not check back into the game.

Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said that Wembanyama finishing the game on the bench gave him hope that the injury was not serious.

“Have not been able to talk to the medical staff yet, but I think I saw what everybody else saw,” Johnson said. “Obviously, he finished the game on the bench with his teammates. So, I think that made me feel good.”

Wembanyama finished with 31 points and 13 rebounds in 24 minutes on the floor.

A third-year veteran, Wembanyama previously sat out 12 games earlier in the season because of a left calf strain. He returned to the lineup on Dec. 13 during the semifinals of the NBA Cup against Oklahoma City and came off the bench in his first six outings back from the injury before making his first start on Dec. 27 in a loss to the Utah Jazz.

Wembanyama entered the contest Wednesday averaging 24.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks.

Alleged drug smugglers jumped overboard in recent boat strikes, U.S. military says

0

Washington — Individuals on board two alleged drug smuggling boats jumped into the water after an initial strike on another boat on Tuesday, the U.S. military said.

U.S. Southern Command announced Wednesday that three “narco-trafficking vessels traveling as a convoy” were struck in “international waters” a day earlier. Three people were killed when the first boat was hit, according to Southern Command.

“The remaining narco-terrorists abandoned the other two vessels, jumping overboard and distancing themselves before follow-on engagements sank their respective vessels,” Southern Command said, adding that the U.S. Coast Guard had been notified for search-and-rescue efforts.

In a separate statement, the Coast Guard said it was notified Tuesday about “mariners in distress in the Pacific Ocean.”

“The U.S. Coast Guard is coordinating search-and-rescue operations with vessels in the area, and a Coast Guard C-130 aircraft is en route to provide further search coverage with the ability to drop a survival raft and supplies,” the statement said.

As many as eight people abandoned the remaining two vessels, three U.S. officials told CBS News. One of the officials said the strikes were conducted in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

A 46-second video of the strikes did not appear to show any survivors in the water.

The U.S. military also said it conducted strikes Wednesday on two vessels, killing five people, Southern Command said later in the day, bringing the estimated death toll in the monthslong military campaign against alleged drug smugglers to at least 115.

“Intelligence confirmed the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes and engaged in narco-trafficking. A total of five narco-terrorists were killed during these actions – three in the first vessel and two in the second,” Southern Command said.

The Trump administration’s handling of survivors has come under intense scrutiny, with some critics accusing it of committing potential war crimes after a follow-up strike on Sept. 2 killed two survivors. Two men who survived a strike in the Caribbean Sea on Oct. 16 were detained by the U.S. Navy and repatriated to their countries of origin, prompting questions about the danger the Trump administration has claimed alleged drug traffickers pose to the U.S. Strikes on Oct. 27 in the Pacific left one survivor, who has since been presumed dead.

Members of Congress — mostly Democrats — have sought to rein in the boat strikes, which come as the Trump administration escalates pressure against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. The administration has accused Maduro of drug trafficking and working with gangs designated by the U.S. as terrorist organizations, which Maduro denies.

Lawmakers have raised the alarm that the strikes, which have not been authorized by Congress, could lead to war with Venezuela and have questioned their legality.

President Trump, who has repeatedly threatened land strikes against Venezuela, said the U.S. “knocked out” a “big facility” last week linked to the alleged drug smuggling operations, but his administration has provided few details on the matter.

“There was a major explosion in the dock area where they load the boats up with drugs,” Mr. Trump told reporters Monday in Florida.

Many Republicans have defended the strikes, including after the administration acknowledged that two survivors of the Sept. 2 boat attack were killed in a follow-up strike.

Both critics and defenders of the Sept. 2 follow-up strike have called for the video to be released to the public, but Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the Pentagon has no plans to do so.

Victor Wembanyama leaves game against Knicks with apparent leg injury

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama left Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks with an apparent leg injury. The Spurs ruled him out for the contest.

Webanyama jumped for a rebound and landed awkwardly with 10:32 left in the fourth quarter. His left foot moved forward as he approached the ground, which caused his knee to bend inward. He fell to the floor and grabbed his knee in pain, and after he returned to his feet, he limped off the court and into the locker room for examination.

While he returned to the bench after a short stay in the locker room, the Spurs determined Wembanyama’s night over after 24 minutes of action. He scored 31 points and racked up 13 rebounds before his premature exit.

The Spurs trailed the Knicks, 102-96, when Wembanyama left the game. Both teams entered the day in second place in their respective conferences, and the contest is a critical one as they chase the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons for the top spots.

Wembanyama, a reigning All-Star and former Rookie of the Year, has been instrumental in the Spurs’ rise toward the top of the Western Conference this season. He averaged 24 points per game over the first 20 games of the year and is on pace to average a double-double for the third consecutive season to open his career. He has become an even more potent offensive weapon this season with a career-high 51.4% shooting clip.

Wembanyama’s injury is reminiscent of the one Nikola Jokić sustained on Monday. The Denver Nuggets superstar was diagnosed with a hyperextended knee — which will sideline him for at least four weeks — after he also had his leg bend awkwardly in the middle of game action.

The Spurs already spent a month this season without Wembanyama due to a separate injury. The third-year star sustained a calf strain against the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 14 and did not return until Dec. 13 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He eased back into the lineup, coming off the bench for six games before returning to the starting five on Dec. 27. Wednesday’s contest was just his third start since the calf injury.

Latest deep-sea search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 gets underway

0

HANOI, Vietnam — A deep-sea search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 began in the Indian Ocean on Wednesday, reviving efforts to solve one of aviation’s greatest mysteries more than a decade after the jet vanished with 239 people on board.

Malaysia’s Transport Ministry said Wednesday that a search vessel, the Armada 86 05, arrived at a designated search area with two autonomous underwater vehicles.

The location of the search area was not disclosed in the statement. It said the vessel had prepared for the search in Fremantle Port in Western Australia.

The government did not specifically mention Ocean Infinity, the company that helmed a previous search and had long been slated to lead the new one. But the craft that the government specified by number has been widely identified by maritime and aviation websites as belonging to Ocean Infinity.

Earlier in December, the Malaysian government said that the Texas-based marine robotics firm would begin searching targeted areas of the seabed under a renewed “no-find, no-fee” agreement.

Ocean Infinity has confirmed it was resuming the search for MH370 but refused to comment further, citing the “important and sensitive nature” of the operation.

Ocean Infinity previously searched the seabed in 2018, under a similar contract but found no trace of the plane. The company has said it has since upgraded its technology and refined its analysis. Its CEO Oliver Plunkett said last year the firm was working with multiple experts and had narrowed the search zone to what it believes is the most probable crash site.

Earlier this year, Ocean Infinity briefly restarted seabed search operations in a new 15,000-square-kilometer (5,800-square-mile) area of the southern Indian Ocean after receiving approval from Malaysia, but the effort was suspended in April because of poor weather.

The Malaysia Airlines plane disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing on March 8, 2014. Satellite data later showed the aircraft veered from its planned route and flew south toward the remote southern Indian Ocean, where investigators believe it crashed. There has never been an explanation for the course change.

A costly and protracted multinational search effort failed to locate the aircraft, though pieces of debris believed to be from the plane later washed up along the East Africa coast and on Indian Ocean islands. No main wreckage or bodies have ever been recovered.

Anthony Edwards leaves bench after Timberwolves pull starters

0

ATLANTA — Anthony Edwards left the Minnesota bench and the court during a timeout late in the Timberwolves’ 126-102 loss at the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.

The unplanned and unapproved exit of the Minnesota star came during a timeout with 7 minutes, 52 seconds remaining. Edwards apparently disagreed with coach Chris Finch pulling his starters with the Hawks leading 109-80. Edwards tossed his towel and left the bench.

Edwards did not speak with reporters after the game. Finch told reporters that he should have remained on the bench.

“Obviously frustrated with the performance and rightfully so, but he needs to stay out on the floor and root for his team,” Finch said.

Edwards led the team with 30 points while making 10 of 18 shots, including three 3-pointers, in 33 minutes.

The high-scoring guard began the night eighth in the NBA with his average of 29.1 points.

He also was ejected in overtime of the Timberwolves’ 142-138 loss at Denver on Thursday. He scored 44 points before an ejection for arguing foul calls.

Edwards, an Atlanta native and former University of Georgia star, had friends and family, including his grandfather, at Wednesday’s game.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
