HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. WOW. THE MAYOR OF OVIEDO. FRIENDS AND FAMILY HONORED HER TONIGHT AT THE GRANT CHAPEL AME CHURCH IN OVIEDO. GRIFFIN IS A DEDICATED MEMBER OF THE CHURCH. SHE’S ORIGINALLY FROM HAZLEHURST, GEORGIA, BUT MOVED TO OVIEDO IN 1948. DURING HER LATE TEENS. SHE’S KNOWN FOR HER BAKING, AND RELATIVES TELL US THAT HER LEMON MERINGUE PIE IS CHEF’S KISS. JESSIE MOTHER GRIFFIN SAYS THAT SHE OWES HER LONGEVITY TO HER FAITH. JESUS SAY SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND. KNOCK AND THE DOOR SHALL BE OPEN. I SEEK. I KNOCKED, AND I FIND JESUS. AND FROM THEN ON HE, HE, HE DIRECTS MY PATH. MOTHER GRIFFIN HAS 15 SIBLINGS. SHE AND HER 96 YEAR OLD SISTER, CARRIE, ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO ARE STILL LIVING.
