INTO NEW MEXICO. BOOT HEEL. JUST SLIGHTLY BREEZY IN EASTERN NEW MEXICO ON THURSDAY. THEN ON FRIDAY WE GO INTO WEATHER IMPACT MODE. NOT UNTIL THE AFTERNOON. FOR A LOT OF US, THOUGH, IT’S THIS GRADUAL INCREASE HERE IN THE RAIN, SNOW AND WINTRY MIX. SHOWERS. LOOK AT HOW TEMPERATURES TURN MUCH COLDER ALREADY HERE ON FRIDAY AND EASTERN NEW MEXICO AND FRIDAY AROUND DINNERTIME. AND THEN THEREAFTER. THAT’S WHEN IT LOOKS LIKE THE SNOW SHIELD WILL REALLY START TO FILL IN HERE ACROSS PORTIONS OF CENTRAL NEW MEXICO AND ALSO AROUND ALBUQUERQUE. AND THEN SATURDAY, WE’RE JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT HERE SATURDAY MORNING. AND BOY, SNOW FILLS IN FOR THE DAYBREAK HOUR. SOME ICING IS GOING TO BE POSSIBLE HERE INTO SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO. AND SATURDAY MORNING COULD STILL HAVE SOME RAIN GOING FOR THE SOUTH, CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST. BUT AS THAT COLD AIR CONTINUES TO GET DRAWN IN FROM THE EAST, WE CHANGE OVER TO MOSTLY SNOW. SHOWERS AND SNOW COULD BE HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH THE DAY. SATURDAY WELL INTO SATURDAY EVENING. THAT’S A HIGH TEMPERATURE, JUST BARELY ABOVE FREEZING FOR ALBUQUERQUE. BY SATURDAY NIGHT. HERE’S HOW MUCH SNOW THE COMPUTER MODELS ARE THROWING DOWN SIGNIFICANT STUFF HERE THROUGH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO. BIG SNOW TOTALS UP AND DOWN THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN, AND POTENTIALLY SOME SIGNIFICANT SNOW FOR ALBUQUERQUE. THE EURO A LITTLE LESS SNOWY, BUT STILL SHOWING A VERY SIGNIFICANT EVENT HERE UP AND DOWN CENTRAL NEW MEXICO, THE CENTRAL MOUNTAINS, AND INTO PORTIONS OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO AS WELL. AND, YOU KNOW, A FEW INCHES OF SNOW COULD BE IN THE MIX FOR ALBUQUERQUE. SO GET READY FOR WHAT COULD BE A PRETTY FUN WEEKEND HERE. NOW HERE WE ARE, NORTHWEST NEW MEXICO HIGHS 40S LOWER 50S. CLOUDS BUILD TOMORROW, FRIDAY. WE DO HAVE THIS CHANCE AT SOME WINTRY MIX SHOWERS, BUT IT DOESN’T REALLY GET TOO HEAVY UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT SATURDAY. THAT’S OUR IMPACT WEATHER DAY WITH A CHANCE OF SNOW ACCUMULATION. VERY COLD NEXT WEEK. SOUTHWEST NEW MEXICO, UPPER 50S LOWER 60S TOMORROW. SAME TEMPERATURES AS THE CLOUDS BUILD. FRIDAY WILL BE RAIN AND THEN WINTRY MIX SHOWERS. AND THEN SATURDAY. THAT COULD BE AN ACCUMULATING SNOW DAY. A FEW LEFTOVER SNOW SHOWERS ON SUNDAY. HERE’S SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO. IT’S TEMPERATURES ONLY IN THE 50S TODAY, BUT IT’S JANUARY. THAT’S NOT SO BAD. WE’RE A LITTLE WARMER TOMORROW AND THEN FRIDAY. IT DOES LOOK LIKE IT’S INITIALLY RAIN. THAT COULD BE FOLLOWED BY A PERIOD OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN, AND THEN OVER SNOW INTO SATURDAY, WITH SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE SATURDAY. THOSE ARE HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR THE WEEKEND IN THE 20S WITH SOME LEFTOVER SNOW SHOWERS SUNDAY MORNING. NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO UP AROUND 50 TODAY. MILDER TOMORROW. FRIDAY. IT’S A LATE DAY ARRIVAL OF SOME WINTRY MIX SHOWERS. SATURDAY IS WHEN IT ALL GOES DOWN. HEAVY SNOW, ACCUMULATING SNOW, DIFFICULT TRAVEL, LEFTOVER SNOW SHOWERS SUNDAY, UPPER 40S TO AROUND 50 IN NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO COULD HIT 50 IN SANTA FE TOMORROW. THEN IT DOES LOOK LIKE FRIDAY. WE’VE GOT THE RAIN AND SNOW ON THE INCREASE AND SATURDAY COULD BE A HEAVY SNOW DAY FOR THE ALBUQUERQUE METRO. WELL, THERE WE ARE, BACK IN THOSE LOW TO MID 50S THIS AFTERNOON WITH LOTS OF SUNSHINE. MORE CLOUDS AROUND TOMORROW, MAYBE A COUPLE WARMER FRIDAY IN THE PM HOURS REALLY AFTER 4:00 IS WHEN IT DOES LOOK LIKE RAIN AND WINTRY MIX AND SNOW SHOWERS BECOME LIKELY SATURDAY. WE DO HAVE A CHANCE AT PICKING UP A FEW INCHES
