They say everyone is related in a small town, and in Rio Paloma, Texas, that might be true.
Dutton Ranch’s fictional setting requires a brief lesson in genealogy to keep up with alliances and feuds.
The actual Duttons are pretty easy.
There’s just Rip, Beth and Carter, plus a couple of ranch hands and maybe a friendship with the local veterinarian.
Is Everett McKinney friend or foe? The jury is still out.
Carter’s relationship with Oreana complicates things, as she’s a Jackson — as in, granddaughter to Beulah Jackson — and that family tree is growing more complicated with each episode.
All of this is central to the Season 1 plot. Loyalties are about to be tested.

Dutton Ranch Family Tree
This isn’t the full Yellowstone Dutton family tree, but we’ve charted that with meticulous attention to detail previously.
The last major update to the original Dutton Family tree came as prequel 1923 ended, although it’s worth noting that Monica Dutton has since died.
Here is the Texas Dutton Ranch family tree, including ranch foreman Azul and cowboy Zachariah.
We also included Oreana (Carter’s Season 1 love interest) because she complicates an already tense relationship between Beulah Jackson and Beth/Rip.

Beulah Jackson’s Family Tree, Updated
Episode 3 of Dutton Ranch taught us that Beulah’s son Joaquin is adopted. He tells Beth all about it at the hotel bar, but some sleuthing reveals that’s not totally true. His father seems to still be in the picture. Here’s how we figured that out.

First, Beulah takes a phone call from Mariano, a man concerned about her new ranch foreman as it pertains to all the “cattle” he’ll be moving soon. That call is tense — to some degree Beulah is under his thumb.
Later, Joaquin introduces himself as Joaquin Reyes. Then, at the very end, the credits identify Mariano as Mariano Reyes, played by actor Raoul Max Trujillo.
We still don’t know who Rob Will’s father is — a few fans think it’s Everett — but with this new information the Jackson family tree looks like this:

Of course, the large question is what Beulah’s real business is. Did Mariano really mean cows when he said he was moving cattle? Or did he mean drugs, or something even darker?
Ep. 4 (titled “Start With a Bullet”) may very well reveal that truth.
The 30-second-long trailer introduces two new characters who look suspicious. Rip beats one up, and the other ducks out of the country store once Carter starts poking around for information.
Blink and you’ll miss them.
