We are on the ellipse for what is not *** typical weekend at the White House. This is UFC Freedom 250. Now before we get into where the fight’s going to happen, I want you to look around here. This federal park has been turned into *** weeklong fan fest. Yes, it is hot, as he just said. The temperature certainly is *** factor. People here are waiting, gathering for the big fight night where they’re going to be watching on these big screens. Right here on the ellipse. Now if you look between those screens, you can see the top of the White House right there and then above that, that is the claw, those stars with the red and blue lights. Underneath that is the octagon. That’s where the actual fighting is going to be happening. Normally in Washington we have political punches thrown. Today the real thing is going to be happening. This is *** historic event. It is in honor of the country’s 250th anniversary. It also. It is to be President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday. Of course he has long been *** fan of mixed martial arts. Now tonight’s fights less about the results, more about the spectacle. Having this event here with the White House as the backdrop, the Oval Office just steps away. So for tonight at least our nation’s capital is the capital of combat sports.
