Jelly Roll faced the music — and fought a tough, scrappy match — during his hotly-anticipated WWE SummerSlam match-up on Saturday night (Aug. 2.)
Jelly was part of a team match-up with wrestling partner Randy Orton, as the two squared off against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.
It was a gritty match, with lots of sweat, near-knockouts and out-of-the-ring antics on both sides. But the excitement peaked with a gravity-defying blow from Paul, who leapt from the top of the ropes to smash Jelly through the announcer’s table.
Paul posed for the crowd and crushed two bottles of his energy and hydration drink brand Prime, while McIntyre shoved a near-knocked-out Jelly into place on the table.

Then, in one dramatic pounce, Paul soared through the air and smashed into the country star, busting through the table and leaving both men rolling on the floor.
Think that was it for Jelly in this match? Think again.
After being pulled up to his feet by medical personnel, Jelly staggered back toward the ring — and in an incredible comeback moment, he tagged out Orton to deliver a choke slam to Paul and continue the bout.
Despite Jelly and Orton’s best efforts, Paul and McIntyre ultimately won the match on Saturday night.
A Full-Circle WWE Moment
The table-smashing stunt was a call-back to their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month, when the country singer slammed Paul through the host’s desk and shattered it.
It was a surprise appearance from Paul, as Jelly guest-hosted Jimmy Kimmel and brought Randy Orton out as one of his guests during the show.
Both Paul and McIntyre crashed the set to deliver insults and blows as the wrestling crew hyped up their upcoming SummerSlam match.
Jelly Got a Real-Life Injury Training For SummerSlam
Leading up to the match, Jelly told ESPN’s Get Up that he was taking training seriously — so seriously, in fact, that he sustained a broken bone.
“Listen man, that ‘wrestling’s fake’ stuff has got to go out the door. There’s no fake way to land on a piece of plywood in front of 60,000 people, you know what I mean?” the singer said.
“I broke my pinky week one of training by accident,” he added. “That thing, it’s a constant collision, dude.”
Jelly’s SummerSlam Appearance Was a Dream Come True For the Country Star
Jelly has said that he dreamed of being a WWE star as a child, and trained as a wrestler briefly before pursuing a career in music.
In 2024, his hit song “Liar” was the theme for SummerSlam. He also performed it live during the event.

Last month, he was performing that same song during a WWE SmackDown episode when Paul came out to crash the party.
The social media influence and wrestler cut Jelly’s equipment, interrupting him mid-chorus, to unleash a tirade of boos and insults against the country star. Randy Orton got involved, and Jelly did too, grabbing Paul’s hair and throwing him to the floor of the ring.
After the match, Orton invited Jelly to join him for their SummerSlam match.
