VIDEO: Huge explosion sends natural gas tank dome flying

TULSA, Okla. —

A massive explosion blew the lid off a huge liquid natural gas tank in Oklahoma and sent it flying.

Officials believe it was a lightning strike that set off a fire that caused the blast at the Glenpool Tank Farm. Eventually, multiple tanks caught fire, shooting flames into the sky.

The witness who captured the blast video said the explosion shook the Walmart where he was pulling into work.

As a precaution, surrounding businesses and homes in the area were evacuated. No injuries were reported. Officials said Monday night that the fire was under control and added there was no air quality danger to the public.
