Who Are Tyler Childers’ Wife + Children?

Childers and May announced that they were expecting a second baby as part of an Instagram Stories message Childers posted regarding the closure of a birthing center in Danville, Ky.

“Saddened to hear about the impending closure of the birthing center at Ephraim McDowell,” he wrote in February (quote via People.)

“In Sept of 2022, Senora gave birth to our baby boy here,” he continued. “We were intending on going here for the birth of our second baby, who we are expecting later this summer.”

Childers, who is a frequent advocate for community resources in his home state of Kentucky, pointed out that the birthing center provided “vital” maternal health care in the area. The closure “would greatly affect the Amish community surrounding the birthing center as well,” he noted, saying that the center was “a top notch medical facility that Kentucky should be proud of.”

Childers and May met in 2013 and got married in 2015, when both were still in their mid-20s and hadn’t yet found much success in the music business. They lived with his family to save money, and later moved into a camper van on the property as they worked on building their home.

The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in May 2023. May shared a series of maternity photos on social media, along with a caption that advocated for greater support for maternal health care and reproductive choice.

“No matter what each of us want for our own, we gotta protect one other’s choice to choose what’s best for each,” she wrote. “I’m lucky in a million ways, but sad for the ways that hold other women down and back.”

Childers and May keep their children relatively private, and haven’t shared their names or faces on social media.

His Snipe Hunter album does include a song written for his son, called “Watch Out,” which cautions the little boy about the dangers of navigating the woods, “whether you’re foraging mushrooms, avoiding poisonous snakes, or simply living in America.”
