Two injured, four displaced after structure fire in SW Albuquerque

AFR is investigating a structure fire in SW Albuquerque that left 2 individuals injured and displaced 4 occupants.

At approximately 2:29 on August 28, AFR was dispatched to 6513 Sunset Gardens Rd SW for reports of a possible structure fire at a single-family dwelling.

Crews arrived and reported a working fire coming from the eaves.

The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes of their arrival. Damage to the structure was significant and mostly contained to the area of origin.

Two civilians were injured and transported to a local hospital. A total of four occupants were displaced. They were assisted by Red Cross. AFR Fire Investigators are currently on scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
