Two found dead at L.A. home owned by director Rob Reiner

LOS ANGELES — Two people were found dead at the home of director Rob Reiner on Sunday, law enforcement officials confirmed to NBC News.

A man and woman, ages 78 and 68, were found deceased inside, according to NBC Los Angeles, which first reported the news, citing multiple law enforcement sources.

Paramedics were called to the Brentwood home on the west side of L.A. around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, and a few minutes later police officers were dispatched.

There was a heavy police presence at the home.

Reiner, 78, is a longtime actor and director known for his films “The Princess Bride,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “A Few Good Men,” which was nominated for an Academy Award for best picture.

Reiner is married to producer Michele Singer Reiner, 68, and they share three children. He also adopted a child from his first marriage to ex-wife Penny Marshall.

This year Reiner appeared in four episodes of the Hulu TV show “The Bear” and in “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues,” which he also directed.

NBC News has reached out to a representative for Reiner for comment.
