– Uncertainty continues surrounding the future of Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison, as Brazilian outlet O Globo claims a move to Vasco da Gama could be on the cards. It comes as the forward wasn’t able to make a switch away from Spurs before many of Europe’s main transfer markets closed, despite links with the likes of Everton and Trabzonspor. Richarlison cannot play Premier League football for Spurs after being left out of the club’s squad register. The report from O Globo claims that Richarlison was considering legal action to release him from his contract early, but has since backed down on that stance, with Vasco looking to reach an agreement for the 29-year-old.

– Former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich playmaker James Rodríguez was seemingly closing in on a move to Italian Serie B side Avellino, but there may now be a twist in the tale. Transfer journalist Matteo Moretto reports that an offer has arrived from Colombian side Atletico Nacional, which could change his mind. The 35-year-old’s preferred destination is Colombia, after he was released by Minnesota United in May.

– Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler is closing in on a contract extension, according to a report from AS. It’s stated that the 21-year-old has already reached an agreement with Madrid over a deal until 2031, with an extended date and improved salary all geared towards keeping the playmaker around for the long-term. Guler joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahce in 2023 and has made 116 appearances for the club since, with 19 goals and 26 assists to his name.

Aston Villa are advancing in contract talks with defender Ian Maatsen over a brand new contract. That’s according to Football Insider, which reports that the 24-year-old is viewed as an important part of Unai Emery’s project since his switch from Chelsea. The left-back has attracted interest from Manchester United, prompting the possible extension, despite the fact that his current deal runs until 2030.

Philippe Coutinho has agreed to move to join Brazilian side Santos in a move that will see him link up with Neymar. Ge Globo reports that the 34-year-old will undergo medical tests on Friday, before he signs a three-month deal with the club. It’s claimed that Neymar requested the move from the board for the former Liverpool and Barcelona playmaker, after he left Vasco da Gama earlier this year as a free agent.
