TITHE Brings The Grinding Gloom On New Single “The Fruits Of Spiritual Apartheid”

Date:

Portland-based deathgrind unit Tithe have announced their crushing third full-length, Communion In Anguish, set for release September 19 via Profound Lore Records. Alongside the announcement, the band has dropped the first devastating single, “The Fruits Of Spiritual Apartheid,” now streaming everywhere.

Known for fusing suffocating atmosphere with serrated aggression, Tithe — comprised of vocalist and guitarist Matt Eiseman, vocalist and bassist Alex Huddleston, and drummer Kevin Swartz — have evolved their already punishing sound into something even more ominous and commanding. With Communion In Anguish, the band pushes beyond the dense violence of 2023’s Inverse Rapture, carving deeper into a realm of hypnotic death metal and grind-informed menace.

Engineered and produced by Keith Merrow at Merrowsound Studios and featuring artwork by Mitchell Nolte, the album explores themes of spiritual disillusionment and systematic brutality.

Nowhere is that clearer than on its lead single, “The Fruits Of Spiritual Apartheid,” which the band describes as: “A timeless story of mankind embracing idealistic beliefs to justify genocide and endless wars. Religious dogma and blatant racism conveniently dehumanize perceived enemies and diminish their suffering. Murder them all and steal their land. Build your temples and homes on the blood-soaked shallow graves of the innocent.”

Communion In Anguish will be available on LP, CD, cassette, and digitally. Pre-orders are live now via Profound Lore Records.
