TIM VERY Of MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA Dead At 42

Date:

Manchester Orchestra announced last night that their drummer Timothy Very, better known as Tim Very, passed away suddenly at the age of 42, with no other information such as cause of death or date of death disclosed. Originally from Pensacola, Florida, he cited Foo FightersDave Grohl as one of the reasons he pursued drumming.

When he grew up, he became known as the Manchester Orchestra‘s long-time drummer and co-founder of production company Super Canoe, he contributed to the band’s last four releases: Cope (2014), A Black Mile To The Surface (2017), The Million Masks Of God (2021), and The Valley Of Vision EP (2023).

“The entire Manchester Orchestra family has been devastated by the sudden passing of our brother, Timothy Very. The most beloved human being any of us were lucky enough to know in this life. We’ve all been dreading sharing this news as we are all still in absolute disbelief.

Tim was instantly likable and interacted with everyone he met with kindness and warmth. His laugh was infectious and he immediately made people feel invited and encouraged. His humor and energy were the very foundation that held together the entire MO universe. Strangers quickly became friends and friends became family.

He had an undeniable light that was only matched by his dedication and love for the craft that he was clearly put on earth to do. No words can ever do him justice. Please know, if you are someone who loved Tim, he loved you too.

The only thing that Tim loved more than creating music was being with his family. You’d be pressed to find a more joyful dad.

We love you Tim, thank you for loving us. You are a force of positivity that will be a constant presence in the rest of our days.”

Super Canoe themselves also made an announcement on their Instagram, echoing a similar sentiment of Very‘s impact on people’s lives: “We received some of the worst news we could have possibly imagined, our friend and co-founder Tim Very passed away.

This news shook us to our core and left us heartbroken.

If you ever got the chance to meet Tim you would know just how big of a presence he had. He was a world class musician, excellent business partner, but most importantly a loving and amazing father and husband. Tim loved his family and friends more that anything in the world.

Tim helped found Super Canoe back in 2020 and changed the trajectories of our lives. We have so much to be grateful for with everything he did and helped create here. Tim was always everyone’s biggest cheerleader no matter how small the project or success.

Tim was genuinely the best of humanity and will be missed so much by so many. To say that his passing will leave a hole in all of our hearts is an understatement.

Tim, We love you and miss you brother.”
