Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Friday after he was involved in a rollover crash in South Florida.Woods, who remains in custody, was uninjured, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the incident.The sheriff’s office said it happened around 2 p.m. on the 2oo block of Beach Road on Jupiter Island when Woods struck the back of a trailer and rolled his Land Rover over. Watch the news conference in the video player above“As (the other vehicle) was trying to move to the side of the road, the Land Rover overtook him at the last minute, swerved to avoid a collision, but clipped the back end of the trailer of the pressure cleaner apparatus,” the sheriff said during a news conference on Friday.The sheriff’s office said Woods, who lives near where the crash happened, exhibited signs of impairment at the scene.”They did several tests on him. Of course, he did explain the injuries and the surgeries that he had. We did take that into account,” the sheriff said.Sheriff Richard Del Toro said some in-depth roadside tests were done, and when it was determined, Woods was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail.”At the Martin County Jail, and even on scene, we really weren’t suspicious of alcohol being involved in this case, and that proved to be true at the jail,” De Toro added.”So, Mr. Woods did a breathalyzer test, blew triple zeros, but when it came time for us to ask for a urinalysis test, he refused.”Woods has been charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.Woods has been working his way back to competitive golf after rupturing his Achilles tendon in March 2025 and later undergoing back surgery in October. He made his first appearance in over a year during Tuesday’s TGL finals, where his Jupiter Links GC team fell to the Los Angeles Golf Club.It was the third time Woods had been involved in a car crash, most recently in February 2021, when his SUV ran off a coastal road in Los Angeles, which led to multiple leg and ankle injuries. Woods said later, doctors considered amputation.He was also arrested on a DUI charge in 2017 when South Florida police found him asleep behind the wheel of his car that was parked awkwardly with damage to the driver’s side. Woods said later he had taken a bad mix of painkillers.
