Thomas Rhett Reveals Next Album Details—and a Major Shift

Date:

Thomas Rhett has released seven studio albums so far and he just revealed that he is coming at us with an eighth one, likely by the end of 2026.

But, according to Rhett himself there will be a major shift for his next record.

The “Die A Happy Man” singer was a guest on Country Countdown USA where he told host Lon Helton the details of the next project. It’ll differ in at least one major way from his previous records.

“I’ve been writing for a year and a half for this project. I’m thinking on making a short record, only 10 songs, and let’s go with that,” Rhett reveals.

That is a major shift for the singer, whose previous albums have all had more — some way more — than 10 songs on them.

How Many Songs Has Each Thomas Rhett Album Featured?

  1. It Goes Like This (2013) — 11 songs
  2. Tangled Up (2015) — 13 songs (standard) / 16 deluxe
  3. Life Changes (2017) — 14 songs
  4. Center Point Road (2019) — 16 songs
  5. Country Again: Side A (2021) — 11 songs
  6. Where We Started (2022) — 15 songs
  7. About a Woman (2024) — 14 songs

As you can see, a 10-song album would be a pretty big change from his previous work, especially his last two records, which were extra long.

When Will Thomas Rhett Release New Music?

The “Life Changes” singer says “We’re going in the studio next week to start working on our next record, and hopefully have a song or two come out between April and May. Hopefully a record by the end of this year.”

How Long Does it Take for Thomas Rhett to Write an Album?

In the interview, Rhett details how his process has been going. “I’ve been writing for a year and a half for this project,” he says.” I feel the word on this next project is ‘Timeless.'”
