The iconic introduction once again echoed through NRG Stadium, signaling the arrival of the crown jewel of the Texas Swing — the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Each spring, RODEOHOUSTON brings the spirit of the West to H-Town for nearly three weeks, showcasing the sport’s top rodeo athletes alongside world-class entertainment and one of the largest livestock exhibitions in the country.
At the heart of the rodeo is the RODEOHOUSTON Super Series, a 20-day, tournament-style format that crowns a champion in each event while offering some of the largest payouts in professional rodeo. With a total purse of $2,533,500, each event champion earns $65,000, in addition to round winnings, a custom saddle and belt buckle, and an automatic invitation to compete the following year.
The format rewards both consistency and clutch performances. Contestants compete in three preliminary rounds within their Super Series. The rodeo is divided into five three-day Super Series, followed by two semifinal rounds, two wild-card rounds and a championship.
Each Super Series features eight contestants per event competing once daily for three days. The top four money winners advance to one of two semifinal rounds, where 10 athletes compete in each discipline. The top four finishers from each semifinal advance directly to the championship, while the remaining competitors move to the wild-card rounds for a final opportunity to qualify.
From the wild-card rounds, one athlete in each event earns the final spot in the championship. There, the remaining contenders battle for the title and a payday that can dramatically impact the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association world standings.
With every dollar counting toward the world title race, earnings in Houston can reshape the leaderboard early in the season.
Super Series IV Champions Advance to Semifinals
Among the top earners of Super Series IV was calf roper Quade Hiatt, who earned $6,000 across three rounds to advance. After falling just short of his first NFR qualification in 2025, Hiatt will look to carry that momentum through the remainder of the Texas Swing.
California cowboy R.C. Landingham made a strong impression on the Houston crowd, turning in three solid rides to collect $6,500 and advance.
In team roping, Mason Appleton and Sid Sporer led the way, each earning $5,500 to move on.
Idaho saddle bronc rider Kade Bruno also advanced after earning $6,500 across three rides. The strong showing continues a successful 2026 winter season for Bruno, moving him to No. 4 in the PRCA world standings.
Steer wrestler Chance Howard earned $4,750 during his Super Series run to secure a spot in the semifinals, which begins Tuesday, March 17.
Barrel racer Acey Pinkston was the top earner of Super Series IV, collecting $6,750 over three runs.
Breakaway roper Rylee George advanced with $6,000 in earnings.
Jordan Spears led the bull riding field in Super Series IV, earning $5,500 to move on.
Super Series V Delivers Top Performances
Australian saddle bronc rider Damian Brennan headlined Super Series V, earning $7,000 to advance and continue his strong Texas Swing.
Barrel racer Latricia Duke and breakaway roper Macy Young also stood out, each earning $7,000 to advance from the final Super Series.
Team ropers Jr Dees and Landon Glenn made a strong showing, earning $6,000 apiece to move on.
Bull rider Tristen Hutchings led the field with $6,000, securing his place in the next round. Steer wrestler Dalton Massey matched that total to advance.
Tuf Cooper earned $5,200 and claimed his Super Series championship guitar, carrying momentum into the next round.
Bareback rider Samuel Petersen also advanced with three consistent rides.
With the Super Series portion of the RODEOHOUSTON tournament officially complete, fans and athletes now turn their attention to the semifinals, which begin Tuesday, March 17, on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
