Teen turns candy hobby into business sold at Disney

Welcome back. It started as *** business right out of her mom’s kitchen, and now *** Northern Kentucky teenager making deals with Disney. Yeah, you’re going to love this. Here. Our WLWT morning anchor Kelly Rippon stopped by her local store to find out how this COVID hobby turned into *** full-blown business. I’ve had *** business since I was so young. I mean, even when I was 8 years old, I had *** paper route, and I would go door to door. From *** paper route at 8 years old to making jams in her kitchen at 12, Aubrey Sink didn’t plan to be running *** business at 18, but there were definitely signs. And so I’ve always just like had that in me. I met Aubrey in 2021 when she went by jamming with Aubrey. She was making homemade jams after school and selling them at farmers. Markets and craft shows on the weekends that she did not have competitive cheerleading. It was those sales that launched her into her next business opportunity. I saved up my money from doing that to buy *** freeze dryer because I had been seeing it on TikTok, and so I was like, Mom, please let me do it. And it took 6 months for her to let me buy *** freeze dryer. It turned out to be *** pretty good investment. Pretty quickly, Sink noticed her freeze dried candy sales were outpacing. The jam, so she switched gears from jamming to freezing and moved into *** commercial kitchen with *** storefront. I had no idea where it was going to take me. Like I was just kind of doing it for fun, and I mean, I didn’t expect it to grow this much, but I’m really happy it did. It doesn’t stop there. In addition to her Florence, Kentucky storefront, Freeze them with Aubrey products are sold at the Cincinnati Zoo, jungle gyms, Six Flag parks across the country, and now maybe the. Biggest stage yet, Disney World. So now it’s in Mission Space in Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom and Epcot. So yeah, it’s so exciting. *** dream come true for an 18-year-old who not only runs *** small business with 14 employees, but is also in school full time at the University of Kentucky. It’s really shown me like, OK, wow, maybe nothing is impossible. And of course Sink has plans for the future. She hopes to expand to more Disney parks in the Disney cruise line. She also wants to expand on dirty sodas by maybe opening *** food truck and getting those kits into more stores. Her freeze-dried candy quickly outpaced her jams in popularity, prompting her to shift her focus from “Jammin'” to “Freezin'” and move into a commercial kitchen with a storefront in Florence, Kentucky. “I had no idea it was going to take me. Like, I was just kind of doing it for fun,” she said. “And I mean, I didn’t expect it to grow this much, but I’m really happy I did.” Today, Freezin’ with Aubrie products are sold at her Florence storefront, the Cincinnati Zoo, Jungle Jim’s, Six Flags parks across the country, and now at Disney World. “So now it’s in Mission: Space, in Space Mountain and Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
