A 13-year-old shooting suspect was arrested after another teen was shot at a home in Las Cruces.Police said the victim, a 13-year-old, was airlifted to a hospital in El Paso after he was shot in the back of the head. Officers later detained the teen suspect, who was described as a runaway who possessed firearms.No further update on the injured teen was provided by police in its news release on Tuesday, March 31.The shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, according to the Las Cruces Police Department. Responding officers learned the parents of the shooting victim attempted to drive their son to the hospital while en route.Police then found the vehicle on Picacho Avenue, where officers and other first responders provided aid.The suspect was found near Picacho Middle School and was detained. Police also said the firearm believed to be used in the crime was located.
