Slaughter to Prevail frontman Alex Terrible has revealed that the Russian facility producing his signature Kid of Darkness masks has collapsed — while workers were inside. Thankfully, despite the severity of the incident, no one suffered serious injuries.
The masks, worn famously by Alex and his band during live performances, have become a defining part of Slaughter to Prevail and their image. The collapse marks a major disruption to the business Alex has been building since founding the Kid of Darkness brand in 2015.
In a video shared on social media, Alex can be seen with an employee surveying the wreckage of the destroyed building. The scene shows twisted metal, debris, and a completely unworkable production space. Alex explained that this disaster will cause shipping delays for customers as he and his team work to set up a new facility from scratch.
“Sorry for the delay guys but we have an issue,” Alex told fans and customers. “We are making everything we can to make the moving process as fast as possible. Our old building just doesn’t exist anymore so we have to start from very beginning at the new place. Prepare everything and find money to rebuild everything for work. We know that shipping from Russia to another country sometimes takes ages but we are not amazon we are trying our best to make this as fast as possible.”
Alex reflected on the brand’s journey, noting, “We started to produce this mask in 2016. Our quality of the product and service has grown since then. This is our new chapter I guess! Thanks God everyone is alive!”
Terrible also commented on the situation via his VKontakte website, saying (and translated from Russian): “Dear subscribers and customers, Yesterday, the building that housed our warehouses and production facilities collapsed. First and foremost, all employees are safe and managed to leave the building seconds before it collapsed.
“The Ministry of Emergency Situations and experts are currently working at the site. Access to the surviving premises is temporarily impossible, presumably for several days. According to preliminary estimates, about 2/3 of the equipment and a batch of T-shirts ready for shipment have been preserved.
“More than 300 masks, packaging, and consumables have been destroyed. We are temporarily suspending work, adapting to the situation, looking for new premises, and preparing to evacuate the surviving property. All previously placed orders will be fulfilled, but unfortunately, we cannot give exact dates at this time. We will continue to respond to messages and keep you informed of developments.
“We are temporarily not accepting new orders, but if you would like to support us and are not in a rush, we can accept your order and guarantee delivery as soon as we resume operations. Thank you for your support and understanding!”
The Kid of Darkness brand has become an international success story in the metal world. According to Alex’s official website, the company has shipped over 20,000 masks and more than 40,000 clothing items and accessories since its inception. These custom-designed masks are highly sought after by fans and collectors, making them a staple of Slaughter to Prevail and their identity both on stage and in music videos.
The building collapse poses a major challenge, both logistically and financially. Alex emphasized that rebuilding will require significant time, effort, and resources, but he remains committed to keeping the brand alive and serving fans.
For now, the company is in the process of relocating to a new production space, where they will resume manufacturing as soon as possible. Customers should expect delays, but Alex reassured supporters that he and his team are working tirelessly to get back on track.
