Showers and storms have been dropping heavy in parts of New Mexico Tuesday. Drier and hotter weather will move in every day through Saturday.
Numerous showers and storms have popped up across New Mexico Tuesday afternoon. These storms have all been capable of heavy rainfall. A Flood Watch continues across a large part of the state until 10 PM. The Albuquerque Metro will likely see showers and storms move in later this evening. Scattered showers and storms will stick around through the overnight and into early tomorrow morning across the state as well.
Drier weather will start moving into the state Wednesday. Isolated showers and storms will still develop in the afternoon, but they’ll be farther between that what we’re seeing today. Temperatures will also be hotter. This will be the trend into the end of this week with drier and hotter weather statewide. The best chance for rain will be over the northern mountains and in northeast New Mexico.
The driest day will be Saturday, when storm chances will mainly stay over the mountains in northern New Mexico. High temperatures will climb into the mid and upper 90s for most of New Mexico, along with some triple-digits in southern parts of the state.
Rain chances will return again to more of New Mexico Sunday as another north-south oriented plume of monsoon moisture sets up across the state. Rain chances will increase early next week.
