Shooting in south Phoenix: 1 dead, no arrests

The shooting happened at a home near 16th Street and Broadway Road just after 1:30 a.m., police said.

PHOENIX — A woman is dead after a shooting in south Phoenix early Thursday morning, police said. At this time, no arrests have been announced in connection with the case.

According to early reports, officers were called to a home near 16th Street and Broadway Road around 1:30 a.m. There they found a woman in front of the home suffering from a gunshot wound.

First responders took the woman to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The investigation is still in its early stages and details are limited at this time. Police expect to have more information soon.

The woman’s identity was not released.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case. 

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
