SFPD make two burglary arrests Saturday

Date:

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe police have arrested two burglary suspects in two different incidents. SFPD says earlier Saturday morning, officers responded to a call at a Speedway because of a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, police say they saw 48-year-old Monica Diaz inside the locked building. When police tried to stop her, she ran away, but was quickly caught and arrested. Santa Fe police say Diaz has a lengthy criminal history for drugs and shoplifting.

Soon after that arrest, the SFPD was called to an apartment complex where a man was trying to break into someone’s storage closet. Both suspects were booked at the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.
