Search for suspect underway after man, woman shot in Phoenix

A double shooting early Tuesday morning left two people hurt. Phoenix police are looking for the shooter.

PHOENIX — A man and a woman are in the hospital Tuesday morning after a double shooting in Phoenix. Police are searching for the shooter.

According to early reports, the shooting happened just after 2 a.m. near 31st and Campbell avenues. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

While there, police learned that the suspected shooter and a woman drove away from the scene of the shooting and there was a chance that she was also hurt.

Officers found the vehicle in question near 27th and Campbell avenues. The woman, who had also been shot, was alone in the car.

First responders took both victims to the hospital where they are expected to recover.

Although police set up a perimeter to search for the suspect, he was never found. Police haven’t released any identifying details about the man.

The investigation was turned over to detectives and the search is still ongoing.
