Search continues for teen with autism two months after he went missing

Peoria Police said 17-year-old Bradley Klose was last seen near Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Road on April 8.

PEORIA, Ariz. — It has been more than two months since a Valley teen with autism disappeared without explanation.

“It doesn’t get any easier,” Terri Spitz, the teen’s aunt, said.

Bradley Klose, 17, walked out of work at Fry’s Marketplace near Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Road around 4 p.m. on April 8.

Spitz said the teen left everything behind, including his wallet and cell phone.

Klose was last seen on surveillance video walking westbound on Jomax Road near 75th Avenue that same day.

“We’re kind of at a loss. It got to a point and he could have gone one of three ways,” Spitz said.

The Department of Public Safety issued a silver alert since Klose has autism and is considered to be at-risk.

Spitz said they’ve conducted community search parties, shared missing posters and checked surveillance video throughout the entire community, but have not found any clues as to where the teen could have gone.

Peoria Police said they’ve received several leads. None have led them to Klose.

“Even though they haven’t turned out to be fruitful, people are looking and that gives us hope,” Spitz said.

Spitz said the Klose family is leaning on hope and faith during this difficult time.

“It only takes one person to see him,” Spitz said.

With every day that passes, she said she wants her nephew to know their family will not stop searching for him.

“We are here and we are fighting for you and we searching for you and we will find you,” Spitz said.

Klose has brown hair and brown eyes. He is six feet tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a grey or teal shirt, black pants and black tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about Klose is asked to contact Peoria Police at 623-773-8311.

A Facebook page was also created to keep the community updated on search efforts.
