Scattered monsoon storms this weekend with threats of flash flooding.
Flash Flood Watch In Effect Over Ruidoso Burn Scars This Weekend.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
Keep your umbrellas handy and plan for scattered monsoon storms this afternoon over western New Mexico. Expect continued threats of heavy rainfall and flooding, but storms will be less numerous in central parts of the state. Remember, always avoid arroyos, ditches, and water-covered roads. Afternoon highs stay below average today in the upper 80s in the Albuquerque Metro and lower 80s for Santa Fe. Tonight, mainly quiet and mild with lows in the mid 60s in Albuquerque and low 60s for Santa Fe. Rain chances look to diminish mid- to late-next week as a heat dome expands over the state, bringing back hotter than average temperatures.
