Savannah Guthrie says she’s ‘so touched’ after Emmy winner shares compassion for missing mother
Savannah Guthrie spoke about her mother on the “Today” show Tuesday after an Emmy winner shared compassion for her family’s pain after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was taken from her home.

Actress Allison Janney had just won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for “The Diplomat,” her eighth Emmy.
In the press room, a reporter said Janney had shown “compassion and concern” for Savannah after her mother was kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona, home in February.
“I honestly can say I think about her every day and think about the loss and what Savannah and her family are going through,” Janney said in response. “It truly just took over. I don’t think I’m alone, too. I think all of America was thinking about her.”

Responding to Janney’s comments during the Tuesday morning broadcast of the “Today” show, Savannah Guthrie said she was “so touched to see her do that,” especially considering she had just won an award.
“It was her moment of her triumph, and for her to sit and just take a moment and think about our family,” Guthrie said.
She went on, “I never let a moment pass, if I get one, to talk about my mom and how much we miss her and love her, my whole family, my sister and my brother and I and all of our extended families, we’re in such pain. We need help. So thank you, Allison Janney, for remembering us and for giving an opportunity for me to renew that call.”

“We just want our mom home, give her a proper goodbye,” Guthrie said. “That’s all.”
Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her home on Feb. 1, more than seven months ago. Few new developments have been shared regarding the case as time has gone on.
