A 20-year-old suspect faces multiple charges after allegedly shooting a 17-year-old at a Santa Fe condominium complex and leading police on a 30-minute foot chase.

Santa Fe police arrested a 20-year-old man early Friday morning in connection with the overnight shooting of a 17-year-old in the head.
Axon bodycam footage released by Santa Fe police on Facebook shows officers chasing Mario Tobar-Recinos through an apartment complex around 4:15 a.m., before capturing him on the other side of a chain-link fence.

The arrest came a few hours after officers discovered a 17-year-old male who’d been shot in the head at the Coronado Condominiums.
Through interviews, officers identified a suspect who’d left the building after the shooting.
They observed Tobar-Recinos’ vehicle shortly before 4 a.m. at the Dakota Canyon Apartments.
The car was left in the parking lot with its lights off, but officers located Tobar-Recinos nearby. He fled on foot, leading to a 30-minute pursuit that ended in his arrest.
Tobar-Recinos has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence, and evading arrest, among other charges.
The victim was transferred to UNM Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
