Road rage murder suspect arrested
Victor Rivera-Jimenez faces a number of charges in connection with a road rage shooting last Friday near Unser Boulevard Northwest and Tierra Pintada Boulevard Northwest.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
One man is in custody in connection with a road-rage shooting death last Friday in northwest Albuquerque.
A spokesperson for Albuquerque Police says Victor Rivera-Jimenez has been charged with shooting Corsinio Martinez near the intersection of Unser Boulevard Northwest and Tierra Pintada Boulevard Northwest.
According to police, APD’s Real Time Crime Center identified Rivera-Jimenez’s vehicle by using automated plate readers. Detectives later found surveillance video showing Rivera-Jimenez arrive at a restaurant with a woman and two children after the incident.
Rivera-Jimenez was taken into custody Saturday. Police say he told officers that he was being followed and feared for his life.
Rivera-Jimenez has been charged with murder, shooting at or from a motor vehicle and two counts of abandonment or abuse of a child. He is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
