The Republican Party of New Mexico has reported an act of vandalism at its headquarters office in Albuquerque.RPNM said an object was thrown into a glass window, leading to outside and interior damage. Party chairwoman Amy Barela said in a statement that the act of vandalism was political and representatives from both aisles should condemn it.”I am enraged and flabbergasted that this continues to be something we deal with,” Barela said. “Someone could have been seriously injured as a result of this senseless act of political violence. I am calling on every single elected official in New Mexico, Democrat and Republican, to condemn acts of violence or rhetoric that threaten violence and intimidation, such as this. “The reality is that this type of behavior has been normalized in New Mexico in recent months because leaders in our state refuse to condemn it. One year ago, an agitator firebombed this same office, nearly causing the structure to burn down. These actions, no matter who is the target, are completely unacceptable. We are reviewing surveillance footage and working with authorities to identify the person(s) responsible and bring them to justice.”Action 7 News On The Go: Download our app for free
