Pro-Shot Footage Of METALLICA’s 2014 Pinkpop Headliner Surfaces Online

Date:

Professionally filmed footage of Metallica‘s 2014 headlining performance at Pinkpop has officially been uploaded via the festival’s Pinkpop Archive channel.

The thrash metal giants took the stage on June 9, 2014, in Landgraaf, Netherlands, delivering a 18-song set that leaned heavily into fan participation. Much of the setlist was fan-voted, pulling from across Metallica‘s catalog and balancing all-time classics with deeper cuts — an approach the band frequently embraced during that era.

Especially considering the cut “Lords Of Summer”, which was a single that never made it onto a record.

The newly surfaced pro-shot footage captures Metallica in peak festival form, commanding one of Europe’s most iconic stages with a massive crowd in full voice. From the pristine production to the wide-angle crowd shots, it’s a high-quality document of the band during their By Request touring mindset, where unpredictability and fan engagement were central to the experience.
