On Friday, Aug. 1, qualifying PNM customers will be able to receive help with a portion of their electric bill. PNM will be offering bill help for low-income customers with a past-due notice or disconnect notice on their PNM bill. The assistance will also extend to seniors (60 +) who qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Seniors are eligible even without a past-due balance or disconnect notice as long as they meet income qualifications. At the event, customers should bring with them their past-due PNM bill or disconnect notice, proof of participation in LIHEAP or SNAP for the current year, and a valid ID matching their PNM account. During the event, PNM will be providing bill assistance through the PNM Good Neighbor Fund to eligible customers, as well as energy efficiency tips, and resources to help reduce energy costs, and information for financial literacy courses to help manage finances.
