Person escapes injury from engine compartment fire in pickup
A mechanical failure is suspected to have been the cause of the fire.
Someone had a close call Monday afternoon when the pickup truck they were in caught fire and got into the passenger compartment, an Albuquerque Fire Rescue news release said. AFR Engine 20 was sent to Academy Avenue and Wyoming Boulevard, where an engine compartment fire was producing large flames. Fortuneately, the person inside the truck escaped without being hurt.
